Hi, I'm quite new to these, so can I ask what does the ratings imply? Does it mean that Gokusen 2 got 30% of Japan's televisions tuned in at that time?

i can't believe that h2 is so unpopular what is the highest score ever? i saw that the last episode of beautiful life had 41%, is this the most?

Video Research had the top 20 ratings for dramas from 1977 to 2003~

Firstly, the success of a drama cannot be measured by ratings alone.
Secondaly, I personally think H2 should not be broadcasted in a winter season. It is a summer drama Sweat

Thirdly, it is very much a younger audience drama.
Young cast, baseball theme, definately would not see much of the older
audience watching this Twisted

Lastly, it is not in a golden time slot either...

Yeah, yeah...the last time this happened was in 2003 with Kimura Takuya's GOOD LUCK! The highest rating for that one was over 37%!

Also must remember that if it's a youth-related drama, those people still live at home with their folks and their parents dictate the TV--or they might be straggling in from cram school, hahahaha. I don't know if I could've survived as a good student in Japan Right now, people with death/disabilities working against them OR super slapstick comedy seem to be the themes? Kimura Takuya has a new drama coming up, I suspect that it'll get more than Gokusen 2 just because of his psychotic drama fans, hahaha.
