Great day yesterday for Japanese ballplayers in MLB:
First, Dice-K goes 7-2/3 innings gives up just 4 hits as the Mets shutout the Reds 1-0. Dice-K ends the year 3-3. 3-0 in his last three starts, I'm sure he'll get an offer from someone for next year. (Just not the Red Sox )
Hisashi Iwakuma pitches 8 innings of 4-hit shutout ball as the M's beat the Royals 6-0. Iwakuma ends the year with a 23 inning scoreless streak and a 14-6 record. Not bad for being on a team that's going to end up 20 games under .500.
And last of all, our man in Toronto, Munenori Kawasaki has his first 4 hit night in the majors going 4-for-5 with a double.
