Remember its not about "winning". Those selected to be mods are just deemed more suitable. Not really winners of any sort.
And, its not about votes (see first post). Final decision still lies with the current panel. (me and the current mods) Will be decided on suitability as mods based on: (in no particular order of importance)
1) rapport with members (friendly )
2) ability to handle situations impartially (not get involved yourself)
3) commitment of time to this forum
4) basic mod instincts - to sieve out or stop bad posts diplomatically
These points just came out of my mind as I type, so its not exhaustive. However, each is just as important. One may be strong in all but one point, and still deemed unsuitable. Nominees, how about some words about yourself with regards to the above points? (mods, feel free to add on)
1. rappot with members..
yeah..I get along with members just fine the girls who love Johnny's jr and some guys here. So I can get along just fine.
2. Ability to handle situation impartially (not getting involve yourself)
To be honest this is the difficult part but I can handle things reasonably by listening to both parts. I will try my best to give the best solution for any situation that may arise.
3. Commitment to this forum.
I am here almost everyday. Even if I were assigned outside from my office I will always check this forum. I have committed to something and I will keep it as best as I can.
4.basic mod instincts - to sieve out or stop bad posts diplomatically
I'm pretty diplomatic myself and I always give reason on my action. I.e if I have to lock a thread of course there should be a reasonable reason that points out why a thread should be locked. I don't like to give long and exhaustive explanation. I will always try my best to give all reason in concise manner and understandable to the members.

Aka-chan and Elt failed to mention that they're mods on other message boards, so their duties and responsibilites as a mod are not foreign to them....
I have no idea if Groink and/or Eightysix are mods or have been mods on other boards...
groink was a mod at D-addicts, I've heard.

Not exactly on other boards, but I've been an op in a few IRC channels. So I guess that would count for modding experience.
Not quite sure what that is, but with your display of conflict resolution in the General forum about a month ago, I have NO DOUBT you'll be a great mod here!
(and if a thread is required, I could dig it up to prove it) _________________

Currently?
Before, I think. I hardly visit that forum.
I'm a lurker there, so not many people talk to me about it (D-addicts.com).
No one PMs me over there.
I only get PMs (in this forum) about Jdorama.com
And that's how it should be!
Aside from here, D-addicts.com, I know groink from KikuTV.com _________________
