Anyone knows how to make a URL mask for google search?

Here's an example...

A typical addy on JDorama.com is..

http://jdorama.com/artiste_123.htm

Lets say I want to search for any artiste page that contains the word "genma". How do I restrict the page results to only http://jdorama.com/artiste_???.htm ?

So far I only know putting a "site:jdorama.com" at the end of the search will restrict results to this domain. But I'm looking for something for the specific pages... hmmm...

There's a tag inurl: and allinurl: but doesn't seem to work for our case, as artiste_123 seems to be considered as a single word Sad Maybe should change to artiste.123.htm instead.. but it'll mess up the search engine rankings..

I hope you found what your looking for.

Perhaps by using an exact phrase on the artiste page that you know mostly only exists there, try the following search:

genma "Search forum for this artiste" site:jdorama.com

Or you could add something unique to the page title (like "ArtistePage") and the let google reindex and search on that Smile

Besides the "site:" parameter, maybe you could change the content of your artist_XXXX web pages themselves by adding in a unique string of text. Example, you can put on the very bottom of the page something like "XK38472KDFSJ". Then in the Google search field, you can have it search for "site:jdorama.com name_of_artiste XK38472KDFSJ". It would take awhile for Google to scrape the pages with the unique string.

After some testing, found that the inurl: tag indeed works, but the text must contain the full word searched for. Hence, I cannot use "_" in the URLs. Maybe I'll change the URLs to something like artiste.123.htm instead of artiste_123.htm

If course, if I make that change, the old URLs with "_" will still work to ensure the links to us are not lost.

I have changed all links like artiste_123.htm to artiste.123.htm.

Will await Google to re-index all pages before adding our Google-powered search option.

As its done in a rush, would appreciate if anyone could post any errors discovered on the website.

Time to do some stress tests!! Bonk Bonk Bonk

Hm, well, I was playing around with the Google search function while looking for an old thread and I found out something interesting. When I took out the "intopic" function, my searches were parsed much better than when it was there. Of course there were more topics, but I felt that "intopic" was hindering the searches for the best results. Maybe it's just me.

It's not you: I'm having the same problem... The thing just keeps barking at me, particularly when I try to make a more detailed search...

Between this and the normal engine, the search function is totally useless. Sad

Yeah, just take out the intopic variable and it'll be fine for the most part. You'll just have to sift through more data. Smile

Yeah, I noticed that... Seems to contradict the point of having the Google search available in the first place, neh?

Anyone use the Google search function lately? I got this virus error page which struck me as weird. I tried Firefox's external Google search and it worked just fine. I also ran my anti-adware/spyware/virus programs and nothing came up. Could there be a virus on the server? Crazy

The virus error page only appears when a Google search is made of the forums. All the other search options (artiste, profile, etc) is fine.

Oh! I think I know what it is. Remember a while back that there was a worm that affected phpBB forums which spread itself through Google? This might be the cause.

I tried it from home on two different "scanned Clean Machines" and just now from our corp. network with the same results. Just wanted to let you

Its nothing to do with your machines.

Google has probably blocked requests with inurl:viewtopic and jdorama.com in the keyword search. Hope they stop the block in time....?
