I've seen the following with eng subs:
first 3 episodes of Love and Fight
first 4 eps of Tokyo Love Story
I don't think those projects were finished? But anyway, some episodes do exist.
and 101st Proposals was recently posted in entirety to abmj ... with subs by dust off. I didn't grab the episodes, but I did grab the subs for future reference.
I can mail them to anyone who wants them.
They might be a little hard to swallow if the viewer is not familiar of Japan and its society, but the enjoyment from these dramas need to be shared with much more people!
I would do the translations myself if I only knew how to make subs....
(bit random~) i'm hoping the dorama about table tennis, which was showing on Japanese TV when i was there last summer has subbed^-^
i remember clearly it had a character from HK,.. cos he was the only one i understood^^*
and from then i realised how different and varied the dramas there were on normal mainstream TV~
doumo..

This is actually a movie called "Ping Pong" and not a TV drama. Since it's a mainstream movie, I think it would be easier to find a subbed version...they might even have English subs on the official DVD.
I thought I'd try to force people to get interested in a currently airing drama, Kimi ga Omoide ni Naru Mae ni...how come no one wants to see it? LOL, is it because there isn't any hot, young guys that're super famous? I dunno, but the story and theme song are good!
I am making some simple (I'm a beginner of one week, so go easy on me...!) softsubtitles. If anyone is interested, there are bittorrents you know. And if it gets enough viewer appeal, I want to continue to sub it....for fun, haha. Anyway, here are some screenshots of what I did the other day:
I'm still tweaking the translations to make them more poetic with Amuro Namie's "ALL FOR YOU," but eh...I was going to find someone who had already translated the song and use theirs, but I couldn't find one. That way, no one could blame me for saying my nuance was off, LOL.

yeah, soe eps do exist for love&fight and tokyo love story (i got the first 3 and first 4 eps) but still waiting for the rest of the series to get subbed.
As for 101st proposals, i found the subs posted in d-addicts but not the video. So, I'm waiting for the raws to be released as well on either edonkey or Bt as my ISP only provides text newsgroups... _________________

I would have to say Ningen Shikkaku. I've seen it raw and would like to watch it with english subs. The thing about the series is that you don't have to understand what they are saying to get what the gist of the things that they are conveying through their expressions. I thought it was one of the best work of Tsuyoshi considering he was about 14 at the time and it was such a dark film.
I know that series like Ao No Jidai, Second Change, Kindaichi and Miman City is available in english subs on tape in the US but I'm too poor to afford the postage and don't talk to me about the exchange rate of aussie dollars with the US (it's better than in 2001 when I went to the states. 1 dollar Australian was 50 cents US).
i think someone should tackle IWGP...it's friggin' hilarious! half of the subtitles would be curses, slang and other weird phrases, but that's what makes it so funny, hehehe. i think they should translate the emotion and concept more than literal, verbatim style.

Gokusen, Moto Kare, Fireboys (is it subbed yet??), Kindachi case files, trick 3
1-3 of Gokusen are subbed..
on another note, i'd like to see some Gameshows subbed.. stuff like Matthew's Best Hit TV (have one with Aya Ueto 2004.08.02) seems absolutely hilarious; that guy is just crazy in the best way possible^^

I'm considering taking on the job....I actually went out and bought the "scenerio books" (scripts) for both IWGP and Kisarazu. I just started on Kisarazu the other day...it will be quite a challenge to keep all of the humor of the dialogue, but I'll give it a go. And yeah, like you said, I realized it would probably be better not to translate things literaly. After the translations are done (IF they ever get done ), I need to find a good subbing program or get someone to help me out in that area.
