Dot wrote: | Hi there!
I'm currently watching the series... on episode 2 now... have to "patiently" wait for the releases... I find it superb too! Initially, I had thought that it'll be a typical crappy story about a puppy, but obviously I was wrong... and Abe Natsumi really looks great in this one! Well, afterall, it's her first main casting role in a dorama...
Ok, back to topic... since I'm only on epi 2, I dun think that I can help u much... but I can explain any parts from the first 2 epi if u need it. Regarding why it's not listed, I guess that it's becos nobody submitted its info to the webmaster for listing...

Hi Dot!
Thank you for your reply!
Since you've only watched the first two episodes, I guess you won't be able to answer too many of my questions yet... but I do have one basic question that you might be able to answer now (I don't remember if this part of the dorama starts in episode 2 or 3): What exactly is this piano "competition" all about? The family has a long conversation, in which I'm sure they explain it all, but I couldn't follow most of the dialogue...
Actually, I thought this dorama was going to be a typical Cinderella type story... with Abe Natsumi as Cinderella. There are the two wicked stepsister type girls... and even a sort of "glass slipper!" But things change fairly quickly into something much more bizarre!
I hope you will keep watching it after the story changes gears... because most of my questions are related to the strange happenings at the end of the story.
Thanks again!

I forgot to mention this before, but I actually found out about this dorama from this forum. Someone posted info on at least 2 or 3 of the doramas from both NTV and Asahi for both the Spring and Summer seasons of this year in the forums... but perhaps this info was never oficially submitted to the webmaster...
In fact, there isn't any info on any of the NTV or Asahi doramas from the last 2 seasons in the "Dramas by Season" section of this webpage.
That's too bad, since the only doramas I have easy access to these days are from NTV and Asahi! My video rental place tells me that they can't get anything from Fuji or TBS anymore...
Such are the trials and tribulations of a dorama fan living in Oregon, USA...

i haven't watched the drama yet but i read abit on it. supposedly, the competition is held as the father of the family wants to find someone with real talent to replace his dead son kenji who was an excellent pianist. this someone will then become his successor and heir to the music school.
hope this helps.

Yes, that does help! Thanks!
Hm... the tests that the contestants have to go through are pretty strange, though...
I'm really confused about the end now, too...

Hi bobusan and others,
If you want other dramas besides those by NTV or Asahi, perhaps u can try downloading it via bittorrent? (Thats' what I'm doing now.) There's plenty of new dramas, but most of them are RAW... the popular ones will be subbed in chinese.
[Possible spoiler up to epi 2]
Anyway, as what m|rA| said, the contest is to find a top pianist. Each of the children gets to nominate one candidate for the competition, and if their candidate wins, they (the children) get to be the principal of the music academy. And as for the reason, it's said that the father thinks that his wife (who's mentally ill from the shock of the death of her son) will only recover after she hears the music from a pianist who is as skillful (if not more) than his dead son.
It's a pretty weird drama. Partly why I started watching this is becos Nojima Shinji is part of the staff in the development... you can compare the weird contests with the weird competitions from "Food Fight", "Golden Bowl", etc. This drama has a feel similar to that of his 90's works

No one filled the story of this, well then I have questions, and I have never seen this drama, for I think the place I rent from didn't obtain it at the time because if I knew that Ichihara Hayato was in it, I may have wanted to check it out....
Anyways, my question is just What is the role of Ichihara Hayato???
I saw pics of him playing piano with strings attached to his fingers in a magazine, and I had no idea it was for a drama, let alone, this one...now I know what the pics were of, but what is the point of the string too????
If you don't want to share the spoil in this thread, you could always PM them to me...I can't get a chance to view it anyways, unless I can get a download... _________________ If you message me, expect delays since I'm barely on here anymore...

SPOILER*******************************************
Hayato plays the role of an electric guitar player. He was chosen as one of the talents to complete in the contest.
The situation you described above was one of the tests that the talents had to compete. The strings were tied to weights, so when Hayato plays the piano his fingers are really heavy (the weights are being pulled down as Hayato plays the key on the piano. It suppose to test his endurance.. like how long can he last when playing piano with weights on his fingers.
