Kyoka Suzuki and Haru return in Mikaiketsu no Onna: Keishichou Bunsho Sousakan 2
Kyoka Suzuki and Haru come back in "Mikaiketsu no Onna: Keishichou Bunsho Sousakan 2".
The two will reprise their detectives roles from 2018 drama series “Mikaiketsu no Onna: Keishichou Bunsho”. Also cast in the drama series for supporting roles are: Ikki Sawamura, Asuka Kudo, Takaya Yamauchi, Junji Takada and Kenichi Endo. All five of these actors will also reprise their roles from the first season.
Synopsis:
Kentaro Arita is a popular lawyer, who often appears on TV. He becomes involved in an adultery scandal and becomes the subject of criticism and curiosity. He is then found dead. The police investigate his family, his colleagues at the law office, and his lover, actress Natsuki Toyama. The police are unable to determine a suspect and the case goes unsolved.
5 years later, day laborer Tatsuji Kosaka is found dead at a construction site. There is evidence that links the murders of Lawyer Kentaro Arita and Tatsuji Kosaka. Tomo Yashiro (Haru) and Risa Narumi (Kyoka Suzuki) begin to investigate the two cases.

Ryo Yoshizawa will star in the 2021 NHK taiga drama "Seiten wo Tsuke", which is about the life of Eiichi Shibusawa.
Eiichi Shibusawa was born in 1840 to a farmer’s family. He grew up helping his family with work, which was to manufacture and sell indigo production and also silk farming. He left home at the age of 23 and began working for the government. He later travelled to Paris and learned about banking. Upon his return to Japan, he helped build up the first modern bank in Japan. He eventually became a founder or supporter to about 500 companies and was involved with about 600 public services, including education for women.

Yuko Araki will star in the WOWOW Fall 2020 drama "Sirens no Zange".
Araki plays TV reporter Takami Asakura. She works on the news program "Afternoon Japan," but the program is struggling and could be cancelled. One day, a female high school student is kidnapped. Takami and her senior reporter Taichi chase after a scoop on the case in hopes of reviving their news program. Following a police officer, Takami sees the victim's body, who was brutally murdered.

Haru plays Mimi Ozakura who works as a health physician at a corporate clinic. She does not compromise with anyone or in any situation, hence she has gotten the nickname "Clinic Dictator". She then meets someone on social media. She doesn't know that person's name or what they look like, but she falls in love anyway. She soon realizes that her love interest works at the same company.

Takaya Kamikawa will star in the WOWOW 2020 Fall drama "Yoru ga Dorehodo Kurakutemo".
Kamikawa plays Michinari Shiga, assistant editor for a weekly magazine "Shukan Jiryu". The magazine is known for breaking scandals. One day, Shiga's life changes when his son who attends a university, kills someone he has stalked and then kills himself. Instead of chasing after scandals, Michinari Shiga now finds himself part of one. He is also demoted to another magazine and his marriage starts to fall apart. But he tries to find the truth behind his son's case.

Kei Tanaka will star in the TV Asahi 2020 Fall drama "Sensei wo Kesu Houteishiki" (Equation to Erase the Teacher).
At a prestigious high school in Tokyo, the third grade D class consists of exceptionally smart students. They push their homeroom teachers to the edge and watch their teachers collapse mentally. The students view it as a game they enjoy playing.
Tsuneo Yoshizawa (Kei Tanaka) arrives as their new homeroom teacher. Yoshizawa keeps a smile on his face, even though he is attacked verbally and physically by the students. He never loses his smile. The students' behavior gets worse towards Yoshizawa and they come up with a plan to kill their teacher.

Tatsuya Fujiwara and Yoko Maki will star in the 2021 Fuji TV Winter drama "School Police".
Tokyo decides to introduce a police system for schools. The school police will reside on campus at middle schools.
Ryuhei Shimada (Tatsuya Fujiwara) is a detective for the Investigation Unit 1 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. He decides to apply for the new school police system and he is assigned to work at Akamine Middle School. That school looks like an ordinary middle school, but there are many problems at the school including drug use and shootings.
Meanwhile, Ryoko Asamura (Yoko Maki) is a Japanese language teacher at the school. She is against the school police system. She always takes the side of the students and finds herself butting heads with Shimada.

Osamu Mukai and Taisuke Fujigaya will star in the WOWOW drama series “Karei Naru Ichizoku” starring Kiichi Nakai. The drama series is based on novel of the same name by Toyoko Yamasaki. Mukai will play older brother Teppei and Fujigaya will play younger brother Ginpei. Their father is Daisuke Manpyo (Kiichi Nakai), who is a wealthy man and owns several businesses including a steel company and a bank.
The drama runs for 12 episodes and begins in Spring 2021.

Suzu Hirose to star in TV Asahi Special "Air Girl"
Suzu Hirose will star in the TV Asahi drama special “Air Girl.” The special is based on nonfiction novel “Nihon Koku Ikkisei” by Yoshie Nakamaru. The screenplay is set after World War II and follows the start of Japan’s commercial aviation industry. For the special, Suzu will play Komari Sano. She applies to become one of the first cabin attendants.
Storyline: Komari Sano’s (Suzu's) parents ran a small Tokyo factory that manufactured aircraft parts. With her parents’ influence, she dreamed of becoming a pilot. During World War II, her older brother died as a kamikaze pilot and her parents died during the bombing of Tokyo. She then became an orphan and lived with her aunt. Her aunt ran a ryotei (high end traditional restaurant).
After the war, all aerial activities were initially banned in Japan. After long negotiations with the Supreme Commander of the Allied Powers, Sizuo Matsuki, who is the security chief of Civil Aviation Bureau, finally launched Japan’s civil aviation. Komari Sano applies for the position of a cabin attendant.

Satomi Kobayashi will star in the WOWOW Winter 2021 drama "Pension Metsa".
Kobayashi runs a pension located in a forest in Nagano, that is full of the Japanese larch tree. She interacts with her guests, who come from all different walks of life.
It will be an omnibus type drama with a different guest star each episode.

Masahiro Matsuoka to star in WOWOW 2021 Winter drama "Mikkou wa Utau".
Matsuoka plays detective Masaki Sara. Sara is a detective of the Investigation Team 1 at Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. His colleague, Detective Kota Sato, dies during an investigation of a murder case. Afterwards, he is transferred to the Personnel Department 1 of the Inspection Division. He still grieves over the death of his colleague Sato. The other workers around Sara are hostile to him. One day, a letter reaches the personnel department. The letter claims that Detective Nako Minaguchi leaks secret information. Minaguchi used to work with Sara in the Investigation Team 1. Sara begins to investigate the claim in the letter. His investigation leads him to the unsolved case of the death of his colleague Kota Sato.

Nami is a best selling author. They fall in love, get married, and have children. Keisuke eventually wins a contest to become a drama series writer and quits his real estate job. Five years later he has no projects to work on so he stays at home taking care of the kids and doing housework. Then he gets a break when the main writer of a drama series quits and he gets to work on the script.

Fuka Koshiba will star in the TV Asahi 2021 Winter drama " Mokomi: Kanojo Chotto Hendakedo".
Koshiba plays Mokomi Shimizu. When she was young she created her own imaginary world. She would have conversations with stuffed toys, rocks, and plants. She also could sense the emotions of inanimate objects. Because of this she was considered a weird kid and scolded by people. She stopped going to school in the 5th grade. She eventually graduated from high school by taking correspondence courses. She continued to spend most of her time talking with things in her room and indulging in her fantasy world. When she was 20, she began working part-time at a small factory. Her job was to pick out defective items.
A year later, she still has her part-time factory job and does her job well. Sometimes, she talks to things in the factory as if they have feelings. This causes trouble at the factory. She decides she doesn't want to work at the factory anymore. On her 22nd birthday, someone visits her.

Yo Yoshida will star in the TV Tokyo 2021 Spring drama "Ikiru toka Shinu toka Chichioya toka".
Yoshida plays Tokiko. Her mother died 20 years but her father, Tetsuya, played by Jun Kunimura, is still living and in his 70's. For a long time, they did not get along and almost split up completely. But now they occasionally meet, sometimes eating together and talking. Tokiko decides to write an essay about her father so she listens to his stories but its not all happiness.

Yu Yokoyama to star in TV Asahi Spring 2021 drama
Yu Yokoyama will star in the TV Asahi Spring 2021 drama "Kotaro wa Hitogurashi". Co-starring will be Eito Kawahara.
Yokoyama plays Shin Karino an unsuccessful manga writer. He lives in an apartment complex that does not allow children. One day, his doorbell rings and when he answers the door there is a 5 year old little boy. The boys name is Kotaro Sato (Kawahara) and he tells Karino that he has moved into the complex. At first, Karino is annoyed by Kotaro but eventually he and the other residents become attached to him.
