Didn't care for the original and not a fan of Yamazaki Kento, but might try it for Ueno Juri and Fujiki Naohito. There is also a US remake of this, starring Freddie Highmore. _________________

Ugh, just NO.
I like Nikaido Fumi, but she's too young to be Himekawa. Eguchi is too tall and thin for Katsumata - also, he doesn't look the sort who constantly heckles his colleagues and spouts sexist nonsense. Turtle needs to quit acting, he's so shitty, ugh.
Also, what the hell are they thinking making Kikuta the newbie? Just wrong. _________________

Hirose Suzu is the real deal
In that case, you'll probably want to be on the lookout for this.
Hirose Suzu to star in 100th asadora "Natsuzora"
Hirose Suzu will play the lead, Natsu Okuhara in the 100th NHK asadora "Natsuzora".
9-year-old Okuhara Natsu lost her parents in the war and was separated from her older brother Saitaro (Okada Masaki) and younger sister Chiharu. In the summer of 1946, she is taken to Tokachi in Hokkaido by her adoptive father Shibata Takeo (Fujiki Naohito) who served with her father. The Shibatas are dairy farmers from the Hokuriku region. As Natsu helps out with dairy farming, she regains her cheerfulness. She begins to learn about the spirit of the settlers and the importance of life from Shibata’s father-in-law Taiju (Kusakari Masao), a first-generation immigrant to Hokkaido. In elementary school, Natsu is introduced to animated films, which had become popular in America at that time, by a youth called Yamada Tenyo (Yoshizawa Ryo). Under the influence of Tenyo who aspires to be an artist, Natsu hopes to get a job where she can draw. However, Shibata wants her to marry his only son Teruo (Kiyohara Sho) and take over the farm. At this point, Natsu is informed that her brother is working in Tokyo, she moves to Tokyo to fulfill her dream of becoming an animator.
NHK is really pulling out the stops for this one. Nanako Matsushima will play Natsu's adopted Mom Fujiko Shibata, and past asadora heroines, Tomoko Yamaguchi (Jun chan no Oenka - 1988) and Manami Higa (Dondo Hare - 2007) will also make appearances.
"Natsuzora" begins April 1, 2019 and runs until September 28, 2019.
