It shows how pathetic people are nowadays: ANYTHING to make a buck.... What's worse is the viewing public is eating up this dreck. Incredible.

Hi Juliana,
What country is your local city located in? I was the same way...I think for me..for many years, I really didn't watch much American television but mostly Japanese TV, HK movies and for music, I listened to JPOP, K-POP, PhilPop or CantoPop. Couldn't really listen to anything from the US that was popular. I needed a break.
Now, I like exposing myself to music from other countries and try not too get burned out.

i'm from malaysia..
i'm stuck with j-music since few years ago..
stopped listening to english/chinese and other musics..
frankly telling...entertainment industry in my country need some improvements..
most of the brilliant local artistes here migrated to HK, coz HK gives them more opportunity..example michelle yeoh..she used to be miss malaysia, after that she went to HK to expand her fame..and never came back..

yeah... local entertainment in malaysia need much much more improvement.
like Juliana, me too don't like to watch local drama ( malay, chinese & tamil). the story kinda boring, ( if the storyline is good, but the director didn't do a good job so the result is the same, boring!! )
local drama never fits into my mood
the actor, actress and even director must learn much more to improve the industry

You heard me..... I'm from Canada.
I get Canadian programming and some basic American channels on cable. But I think most American dramas, if not all of them are either mediocre or plain crap. In all honesty, I hardly watch much TV as it is, since the silly reality shows in America are dull and getting really annoying. The only thing I really seem to watch nowadays is either news programs, the odd hockey/basketball as well as football game on, or probably the Simpsons.
Obviously, I love watching Asian movies and dramas over stuff from my country as far as dramas go. Clearly, I believe that many Asian films, whether it be from Japan, Korea or HK are pretty good.

How are Canadian dramas and sitcoms? Never seen one but any cool ones from there!
I know when I visit relatives they have some MTV-like show on their cable but it's Canadian and the show always has basketball player Vince Carter on there.

I was wondering if TV rules are strict in Indonesia, Singapore or Malaysia? I wonder if in other countries, American television is edited because of the content. (example: women kissing each other, violence, sexual content or certain profanity).
