I've abit of time in early November, and plan to roll out some site updates. Apologies for the stagnance of site updates this year, there were several good suggestions for site features and updates, I'll try to list some out here now. Feel free to post more or comment.

Update Plans (will do)

* Captcha for guest posts and user registration
* DONE Fix Google powered search
* DONE Add adsense (related links per page)
* DONE Link artiste/drama pages to official topics
* Fix the missing last pages of some threads
* Update some drama pics
* Search by topic title
* Fix cursor position for format buttons in firefox while posting messages

May have...

* Top 50 Soundtracks
* Top 10 Dramas/Artistes per season or per year
* Button for spoiler tags
* Quick reply feature at bottom of all threads
* Show user gender in posts
* "Report" button beside "Quote" to report spam/bad posts to mods

That's great news.

Never thought of Captcha, but the rest was on my list of improvements. Search by topic title and Link artiste/drama pages to official topics, should prevent multiples thread of the same topic.

You could ask for a fan girl parser, that automatically delete posts with words like kat-tun in it.

Moderators and admin will be able to tag the official topic to the artiste. There'll be a form for mods/admin to update the topic ID in the artiste page below the profile.

The topic IDs are seen in the URL as viewtopic.xxxx.htm, where xxxx is the topic ID.

Mods, pls help to update the links whenever you can, thanks! Feedback if anything there isn't working!



I've also added some links from Google adsense, by right, it should always provide links that are related to the content on our pages. Let's see how it turns out. This also provides some side-revenue for the site via click-throughs.

Again thanks for all your work.

Perhaps one day when you are bored and have nothing to do you might consider adding the gender of the poster so we know if we are replying to a male or female. That would save a lot of embarrasment.

That's assuming the poster has truthfully disclosed his/her gender during registration.

Why not? Its also up to you to believe what the other user puts Its just like the countries flag we've inserted on the left.

Its under the nice to have list.

I'd like to propose an item under your 'Nice to have' list: a 'Report' button alongside 'Quote' in a post. A member can alert moderators of inappropriate contents/spams etc. by hitting the button.

BTW, u may see the adsense ads appearing at several places in the site now. I'm currently experimenting on the locations, size, etc to gauge effectiveness of the ads.

Cool. Do you think there could be a different group (aside from mod/admin) for folks like us (who've been here awhile) to help out on this front? The group would not be able to delete/merge threads, but could add these sorts of tags as they see them.

Just curious.

Could be tricky to manage coz I don't have any way of identifying this special group yet. There'll be ways.. will be very individual. lemme look at it

it might be easier to have a thread that users can post what links are missing, that way the mods can find them easier. then the mods can edit the post to say it's been linked. less work for Genma.
