That would be a lot of epsisodes... like 300? All I know is it was the most popular NHK drama in its time and still makes its way around reruns. Perhaps you can check to see if NHK even has it for sale. Other than that, you may be able to rent it at a local japanese video store?

I know it is a very long drama, but I would actually like the whole set of it. I missed some of the episodes and would like to buy it.

so probalby for the states you could try goign to chinese cd shops to check if they have it.
for example, if california go to the morning side area.. ( is that the area? i forgot waht its called)

Hello Everybody,
I'm new on this forum and still trying things out.

I'm learning Japanese, but I can't read that well yet, so I would like to ask a question:
Which of the DVD's advertised on this website features the full series of "" ??

http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/250-5736826-7962612

Thanks in advance.[img][/img]

It actually belongs back in the Dramas section:
http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.4450.htm

And the answer to your question is not sure. There is a set in VHS, but I can't tell which DVD set is the complete series. Someone I think that each DVD on Amazon is just a portion of the series.

Okay, thanks.
I might actually try to bowse in some local Asian video stores.
The DVD's seem to be very expensive, though.

Okay, I moved it back, but I can't do anything else from here, so can someone merge it with the appropriate topic for me? Mr Green

Spanks.

Heh, this thread seems to be a hot potater.

I thought it more of a language translation inquiry than a drama-related one, but if you guys think so.......

Merging.

digging something up...but I was just reading this novel called "Persepolis" where the main character, a girl named Marje is from Iran. The novel takes place in the 80's when Oshin was going strong all over the world. However, the regime there dubbed the series changing her Geisha status to "HAIRDRESSER". JUST FYI! Mr Green

Hi everybody! I'd also like to purchase the full version of Oshin in VCD/DVD format with English/Turkish subtitle or dubbing.. I think that if available, the only way I could purchase it is online so I'm looking forward to see any of your suggestions..

You might get better results by asking in the Buy, Sell, Trade forum....

Fooling around on YouTube, this guy has about the first 35 episodes of Oshin, some subtitled, some dubbed:http://www.youtube.com/user/sudeshsookdeo.

It is the best asadora ever IMO. If I were making a list of the best asadoras it would be:

1) Oshin

2) All the rest.

If anyone has subtitles of Oshin other than Chinese (prefer English) please post a link to download. Or else please tell me a place to find it. Thank you.

We have an Oshin thread:http://www.jdorama.com/viewpost.941746.htm#941746

I found some on YouTube, the link is in that thread.

Speaking of which, this probably needs to be merged with the "Oshin" thread.
