PostPosted: Wed Feb 04, 2004 5:15 pm    Post subject: FEMININE? Reply with quote Back to top

I don't know, but around here in general, caring too much about how you look such as hair or clothes is really a feminine thing to do. I'd feel a bit embarassed if I was caught in public taking about 15 or so mintues on my hair.

anyway...I'm asian too..with typical course hair (pretty prickly when shaved short).. My hair length is enough to have the body of KT's but not the length (since everything except the top is very long, probably around 3'' or something.

thanks for all the help!!! especially kndy for your input!

doesnt really matter if a guy spends so much time with his hair, as long as he doesnt treat me that way when im with him Rolling eyes

i think guys who loves to look good or what not, is better than some people out there who arent trying at all.

i actually asked around the office, and i was told (by 2 girls, no less) that he prolly used this pomade, a sort of styling wax. There are many brands out there, and it holds better than mousse. just do a google search with "pomade+hair" and you'll get an idea of what they look like. pretty cheap, too.

I have a lot of experience with hair stlying products, but I'm sure it's not pomade because while it holds very well, it leaves a slick shine. Paste/glue is more resonable since it's a matte finish, but then again, you'd have to use a lot to get clumps in such detail as the above pics.

which products should I use??? i'd be ecstatic to find out. hairspray seems like a good idea but i'm sure there are a few more products used.

I think my next question is, anyone have more pics of KT like the side view one? I'd like to see it all around...

Ever pay a visit to the salon in japan towns? They have TONS of hair product that's great. I myself used nearly all they have in Jtown in SF.

But if you want something that hold, not sticky, and doesn't leave shine, paul mitchell's could do the trick, or jf lazartigue's.
I am on messy hair style now since it's windy and snowing, so I don't have to style my head after shower, just leave them dry out and then shake your head abit. The hard thing is to get pro stylist that able to define your cut very well so the hair will 'drop' at right angle instead scattered like kobo-chan.

yes, I was considering paying Japantown a visit again, I haven't done so since the summer.

I know there's a hair salon there too...any chance they keep up with Japanese hair styles?

Yeah, I dig his hair. Liked his hair style back then when it was long but didn't like the "Long Vacation" or "HERO" hair but this one is pretty cool!

My friend has his hair like R. Matsuda (look at the recent ist Toyota ads) and he's getting a lot of compliments from the women. I think someone on here uses it for his .sig.

Anyway, as mentioned on the previous post, Japantown is a good place. I actually pick up hair products when I go to Japan or buy them from the salon I go too. But as for Japantown, definitely cool hair magazines and also make sure to pick up my favorite Men's fashion magazine of late "Men's Club" (used to get non-no and checkmate). Definitely good sources for fashion and show off that metrosexual coolness.

Everytime I wash my hair all I have to do is pull it out and start drying it. Don't have to use anything else.
When it dries it just stays like that, especially the back sticks out alot then.
But the back starts to lay down after one nights sleep. It still sticks out though but it gets rather curly than spiky making it look like a duck's tail. Crazy

I suggest to just go to "White House" in Japan and request your desired hairstyle to one of the stylists. The service is excellent, but rather expensive. One haricut there cost me about 5,050 JPY. But they do the "full on" treatment there! That was the first time I've had the automated hairwasher. Freakin' thing tickled like hell and I was trying so hard not to laugh at all during the whole ordeal!
On a side note, to get that "clumpy" look you're looking for, I'd definately suggest hair wax to get the job done. Gel makes it look too 'wet'. Mousse will make it too 'hard'/'stiff'. But the wax is just right! I forgot the one I was using when I was in Japan. But I buy the "Crew" brand here. Not bad for $15.00 USD a can!

Same here. Brown is okay, but that blonde hair just weirds me out big time...
