vԂI w00t!
Just realized the rapidshare links are down too.
Here some recent links of the old lesson files:

Lesson 00 - Introduction

Lesson 01 - Hajimemashite and Answers

--------------------------------------------

If anyone wants the files in microsoft word format to update, expand the contents etc, please send me a message.

I would like to help anyone who wants to continue these study series, but I am super busy writing my thesis (in Japanese >_<) at the moment and can only provide little support.

Hi,just to share my little experience in learning the Japanese Language. Like most of the ppl, I also cannot afford $$ to attend classes or go all the way to Japan to learn. Furthermore, if any of you are really interested in joining classes, I would suggest JCS Japanese Language School (http://www.jcss.org.sg/jls.html) as they start from the very basic fundamentals. Don't think about going for 2-3 months short classes as they are very fast paced. I had tried that for my French lessons and finally I gave up. Back to Jap... I'm learning on my own by buying reference materials to study and write. I would strongly recommend 2 workbooks which are very useful. They are "Kodansha's Katakana & Hiragana Workbooks". You will learn how to read and write the basic Japanese characters. Audio can be downloaded from the weblink written in the books. Each book costs about $22.00 and can be found in Kinokuniya. Remember to bring your membership card along to get discounts. There's quite a few more books I would recommend but let's all take a step at a time. Don't forget to practice as you learn cos PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!

Hi,
I'm not taking a Japanese language class right now, so I'm trying to keep my skills from deteriorating too much by using LangLearner through their podcasts. Tools like this can be a great supplement to language learning, but there's nothing like an in-person tutor.
I think it has a lot of helpful link, and I hope it helps you.

We already have a thread on this subject. You should use that one instead of creating a new one.

Please read the Posting Guidelines.

I'm currently learning Japanese through the Rosetta Stone software, who's really great. I've done some research on the internet to find if there was some other programs, better or not, and when I finish Rosetta Stone, I'll jump to the Tell me more software, who come first in a lot of review. They're both very pricey, but they are easy to find if you know what I mean...

You can get all the information about those software on this website : http://learn-japanese-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

my boyfriend is actually teaching me to speak japanese, its sort of hard, but it is fun... I had mandarin in high school spanish in college, and japanese now that i'm working... he's sort of crazy and excited whenever he teaches me, i'm like in an actual class since he's so strict about it... but true, i think CDs or tapes...

I wanted to take Japanese as well (which is a shame because I'm Japanese but adopted) unluckily, I'm too young to go to community college, and nobody I know speaks fluent. I've been relying on the Internet; but I couldn't find anything that had accurate translations. I've decided to teach myself; since my parents lived in Japan before they adopted me (They have books on everything) I'm taking Chinese next year, because I heard it'll help learn the kanji. Hopefully when I get into college, I'll be able to study abroad. Big Grin I finally found people like me!!! I finally fit into a website where JAPANESE DRAMAS ARE EVERYTHING (and learning the language XD)
