J-Pop queen Hamasaki Ayumi (28) and Tokio member Nagase Tomoya (28) have ended their 7-year relationship. Hamasaki revealed the split on her official fan site on Saturday, saying they had broken up the day before. "We had become more than just lovers and are more like family, like brother and sister. And we plan to continue like that and will remain close," she said. Singer Wada Akiko wasted no time adding her two yen's worth. On her Saturday morning live show, she said, "I thought it wouldn't last. I think it's probably down to Ayu's selfishness. I don't think she'll be able to have a boyfriend for a while. But it's a shame because I wanted them to stay together." The pair first became friends when they co-starred in a TV Asahi drama series in 1997. Their relationship turned romantic in 2000 and became public in September 2001. There had been rumors of a split, but it was more widely thought that they would end up marrying. They vacationed together in Los Angeles last autumn.

tetsuwan dash is a variety show that tokio has been doing for about 12 years now. it started out with them doing various challenges such as racing against trains, becoming street musicians, biking very long distances, playing cops and robbers throughout japan, taking care of people's dogs etc etc. but now they mostly concentrate on either a farm they started literally from the ground up and now it's amazing, or they travel all over japan in a solar powered car. they also do various little challenges here and there. the website for tetsuwan dash is below:

TOKIO's Tomoya Nagase will star in a new TBS drama series tentatively titled "Utahime." The announcement comes not long after it was revealed that he has broken up with Ayumi Hamasaki, who is often referred to as an "utahime" (literally, a "song princess").
The drama is based on a play written by Takayuki Takuma (under his pen name of Mikio Satake). Set on the island of Shikoku in the late '50s, it tells the story of a man falling awkwardly in love with a young woman. The play is currently being performed by Takuma's troupe, Tokyo Seleccion Deluxe.
Takuma will also handle the script for the drama. Aki Isoyama will serve as producer; she was in charge of two of Nagase's previous dramas, "Ikebukuro West Gate Park" and "Tiger & Dragon."
The series will air on Fridays at 10:00pm, starting in October.

these past few months i have just been looking all over the internet for stuff on tokio. i am ashamed to say that it took me about 4 years into my je fandom to finally become a true tokio fan. they are such an amazing group! my favorite is mabo but everybody in the group appeals to me. they're just all so likeable. but one thing i discovered is that it's so hard to find stuff on them. especially older stuff. does anybody know where to download their shows. like any clubboxes, pdbox, or gogobox? even torrent is fine. i just wanna watch all those crazy things they did on tetsuwan dash in the earlier years _________________

TOKIO to celebrate 20th anniversary with appearance in Natsu Fes, best hits album and concert tour
TOKIO which will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on 21 September, will be taking part in the annual Natsu Fes held during July and August thus being the first artiste from Johnny's Jimusho to do so. The members had a discussion among themselves last summer on what they should be doing to commemorate their 20th aniversary and decided to challenge themselves by taking part in the Natsu Fes which is a series of outdoor concerts involving various artistes held during summer. First of all, they will be appearing on one of the two-day concerts "JOIN ALIVE" held at Iwamizawa City, Hokkaido, on 19th and 20th July and will also take part in the two-day "Summer Sonic" held at Chiba's QVC Marine Field, Makuhari Messe and Osaka's Maishima on 16th and 17th August.
At the same time, the band will be releasing a 2-CD best hits album titled HEART in summer whereby the track list will be decided by fans. They will get to choose from 71 singles released to date which will be included in disc 1 while disc 2 will contain tracks from 146 coupling songs and album songs. TOKIO commented that they won't be able to decide on what songs to include so they decided to let fans make the choice.
Last but not least, the band will embark on their nationwide tour consisting of 13 concerts in 12 cities and the last one will be held at Nippon Budokan on 2 November. This was the same venue where they made their debut 20 years ago so it will be a memorable day for the members and fans alike. The commemorative 20th anniversary logo was designed by vocalist Nagase Tomoya and will be used in the album and concert tour.

TOKIO's Joshima Shigeru to be marathon runner for NTV
TOKIO's leader Joshima Shigeru was announced on 18 May during the broadcast of "Gyoretsu no dekiru houritsu soudanjo" as the marathon runner for NTV's annual charity programme "24 Jikan Terebi 37 Ai wa chikyuu wo sukuu" which will be shown on 30th and 31st August. This year's main host will be his junior group from the same agency i.e. Kanjani 8 which expressed shock when they heard the announcement. Joshima is the second person in TOKIO to run the marathon following Yamaguchi Tatsuya's attempt in 1997 when the latter was 25 years old.
Joshima said that when he was first approached by NTV to be the marathon runner, he was so shocked that he didn't know what to say. He then decided to go ahead with the idea without thinking too much about it.
