SPEED marriage - Imai Eriko (20) of the defunct Okinawan pop group Speed is to marry 175R vocalist Shogo (24) next month. (too bad for the guys. such a hottie... ) From her website, click on the pic. It's in JPNese, tho.
really? most of the girls i know are married early.
well, perhaps it's because I'm in a different kind of world..more like in career women's world.. so most of them are still single (some like to stay single) or got married a bit late..

oh yea Hiro is great! She's always been my fav out of the 4
I just hope Eriko won't be out of the jpop scene after marriage. I like her songs. She can do slow as well as hip-hop and rock type songs. She has that coolness in her.
I suggest visiting this wicked site http://park5.wakwak.com/~eripapa/ if you're a fan of her. Tons of magazine pic scans and wallpapers.

The only song I know from Speed is Shooting Star. I believe it was the end credit song to the TV drama LIVE. The drama was about a HS band. Two of the members of Speed were in this drama.
Does anybody know the name of the song that the HS band played? I know some artist sings it but I don't know who. Would appreciate anybody's help on this. Thanks.

I thought this was interesting that somebody could sue a tabloid and win.
SPEED's Takako Uehara wins lawsuit against tabloid
On July 24, Uehara Takako, a member of female group SPEED, won her lawsuit for defamation against Shukan Bunshun (Bungei Shunju) for a subtitle that claimed she had ties with an organized crime group. She was awarded 1,100,000 (approx. $10,967 USD) in damages.
Presiding judge pointed out, "Reporting that the plaintiff had ties to organized crime without confirmation seriously damaged her [reputation and has affected her] activities within the entertainment industry."
The defamatory headline appeared in the magazine's September 15, 2011 issue. At the time, Uehara was introducing a building on a TV show that some people associated with a place where those part of organized crime hang out, and the magazine used the title "Boryokudan Haijo Jorei Ni Nerawa Reru Kuroi Geinojin" (roughly translates to "Celebrities With Dark Ties to be Targeted by the Organized Crime Exclusion Ordinance") together with Uehara's name and photo.
The magazine argued that "The title was no more than commentary and critique [on the law]," but the judge ruled that "The heading was a personal attack towards the defendant, so it was therefore not a fair commentary and critique."
Bungeishunju stated, "We will look into our handling of the matter, including the consideration of appealing the verdict."

SPEED's Eriko Imai to run for election in Upper House
SPEED member Imai Eriko announced that she will be a proportional representation candidate under the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP) flag in the upcoming Upper House election this summer during a press conference at the LDP's headquarters on 9 February. While introducing herself to the media, Imai also used sign language.
When asked about her reason to stand for election, Imai cited her 11-year-old son who has a hearing disability as the main reason. While meeting other mothers and children who are in the same situation as them, she wanted more people to know about the struggles they face and aspires to give hope to the children by creating a society which is more aware about their problems and supportive towards them. She wishes that when her son grows up, he will come to feel that being born in Japan is a good thing and she hopes to work towards this goal from now on.
Imai commented that discrimination against those with disabilities stems from ignorance about them thus she hopes to increase awareness in this area first. Subsequently, when society as a whole is more aware of the struggles facing families raising children with disabilities, there can be better policies designed to meet their needs. For example, there are many students with hearing disabilities who enter university but find it difficult to continue thus there is a need for more people trained in sign language to help them. During major disasters, there is also a need for people who know sign language to pass on instructions and information to those who cannot hear. As for why she decided to run under the LDP flag, she mentioned that she was invited by Santo Akiko who is also from the LDP and that she identified with the latter's character and ideals.
Imai comes from Naha City in Okinawa Prefecture and is one of the main vocalists in SPEED. She expects to continue with her music career even if she is elected.
