I just finished Satorare & I think Tsuruta Mayu was good. I remembered seeing her in Imatou & Cheap Love but I can't find that much info on her. I know its a bit late to start a thread on her (she's getting on 36 this year) but I think she's one beautiful and talented actress & underrated too. As far as I know she's married to a contemporary artist since 2002, Daisuke Nakayama. She has reinvented her career as a serious broadcast journalist, specializing in travel & cultural documentaries for the likes of NHK besides acting in films and dramas. Her latest drama was Hyouheki. Although she has her own website, its in Japanese & I'm dying to know more abt her coz she's definitely different than the other japanese idols, like being a bit more intellectual, a peace activist (she was against the US Iraq invasion), involved in her husband's specialty (contemporary art, being a arts graduate herself (degree in Western art) & very low profile. Very much cppreciate it for any further info on this very talented person. Thank you.

Lucky you, sharing that with someone famous. She's a Taurus, by the way I see that most taurans are 'the beautiful people' group, along with Sagittarius (Koyuki, Kenji Sakaguchi) and Libra (Horikita Maki, Takeshi Kaneshero).

Going back to Mayu Tsuruta, don't you think she makes more more money than her hubby? Eventhough Mr Nakayama is a famous artist in Japan, I don't think he makes as much as her, acting & doing cms. By the way, I was surprised to see his picture, he's not at all good-looking compared to most of the leading actors that had acted with her previously (Joe Odagiri, Takeshi Sorimachi, Oda Yuji etc). A mismatch somehow but I suppose, the artist in her was what made her attracted to her husband. Hope the marriage last with babies in tow soon.

There're several of her dramas being streamed tru bittorrent at the d addicts website - Satorare (only epi 1-3 have english subs), Cheap Love (this is the drama of the week series, so there's lots of seeders), Hyouheki (but I could only dwnld the SP) and Seigi wa Katsu (no seeders for this as yet).

I'm still looking around for her films and other dramas like Owl's castle, the 2 films she acted with Oda Yuji, Koshonin, Hanochi, Curtain Call, Good News (jdorama), Kimi to Deatte Kara (jdorama), Tsugumi (jdorama) and Tokyo Cinderella (jdorama). Unfortunately they're all too expensive or out of print. I wonder if there's anyone out there who can help me find these titles, either tru trade or private distribution which I can afford. Mayu appeared with Watabe Atsuro and Nishimura Masahiko in NTV's Tuesday drama, Bakara Giwaku no IT Kabuchosha ni Kaketa Onna (Baccarat - The Woman Who Betted on the Dubious IT Millionaire) on 31 October. She and Nishimura Masahiko played investigative reporters and Watabe Atsuro an unscrupulous IT millionaire. It was a drama made in a narrative style so I thought it made me feel very removed from the characters.
