yeay.. glad everyone can see matsujun in more great roles.. DT and arnel, tell me your views on matsujun's acting after finishing the series okay? ^^ |
arashinokoto..... well it's almost done. One more ep left. I've enjoyed this drama very much. In fact that's what got me liking Jun. As far as his acting. I haven't seen him act in any other dramas except for this one. I take that back, I've seen him in Gokusen. I think he can act pretty well. It was enjoyable to see him in Kimi wa Petto. That part suited him. I liked watching him and Koyuki together. The only thing he didn't do was shed tears when it was those sad moments. But he kisses not bad

Anyhows, how can I get ahold of it online? I'd love to give it a watch. |
Yeah if you'd like to get a hold of a copy of "Kimi wa Petto" go to to the JTV website and download the episodes at
http://japan-tv.afraid.org/main.html
Hope you enjoy the show

*SPOILER ALERT*
I don't quite understand why so many people think this is a good show. Kimi wa petto has got to be one of the silliest programs I've ever seen. I mean, who in their right mind actually drags a box that's got a guy in it into their home? Especially a guy who's all bloodied, injured and who looks like he's barely alive? I would venture to say that most people would either ignore the box, call the police, or at least take the guy out of the box and transport him to the hospital. But to actually leave him in the box and drag it all the way up in the elevator to the condo? I don't think so! Then, the kid Takeshi actually agrees to be a pet? That's such a far-fetched idea that it's almost laughable. And there were so many other instances in which the program just seemed ridiculous. For me, the program went downhill from the first episode. I just thought the premise of the storyline was such a farce that I gave up on the show.
Sorry to be so harsh but this jdorama was probably the worst I've ever seen. It made absolutely no sense. I like most of the jdoramas I've watched but I'm really disappointed in this one, particularly after reading all the positive comments about it.
Just my opinion of the show. I know a lot of other people feel differently, which I respect, but for me, this is one program I wouldn't recommend.

others? never mind lah! |
I mentioned that in my comment previously...I won't call it the worst show I've seen but the hard-to-swallow reality does tarnish the show a bit....let's not forget thought that the show is based on an ongoing manga with a primarily female readership in japan. In any case it's better than HERO I thought. A japanese prosecutor who walks into work everyday wearing jeans and parkas in Tokyo's main prosecutorial branch...now any student of Japanese culture, political science or law would know that is entirely laughable.

I was looking on jdorama for everyones favorite dramas.
For some reason I started watching Kimi Wa Petto, and for
the life of me I can't even watch the whole episode.
It is of course a story but even if a person is homeless he
has value and should not be treated like a pet. Matsumoto
Jin doesn't look like he is homeless and his hair still has some
gel in it.
The first episode is so obnoxious that it's hard to watch for me.
Someone tell me that it gets better, because as it is in my opinion
it devalues human life. Some uppity office woman who is lonely
finds a homeless man and turns him into a pet turns my stomach.
Maybe I should watch Summer Snow again

I'm not taking away from your critique of the show, as I myself had mixed feelings about the drama, but I will point out that it's fanciful plot is derived from a very popular japanese manga (shoujo manga) with a predominantly female readership. derive what sociological conclusions you would like given the gender dynamic involved. notwithstanding that fact from a literary point of view, the "suspension of disbelief" is not effectively maintained throughout the show, i thought.
p.s. there is an existing kimi wa petto thread you might want to read where ppl throw in their two cents, two yen, or otherwise.

Thanks for replying,
I've only recently gotten addicted to japanese drama's
and so far seen some very good ones. I'ts just that
this one got under my skin from the very first episode.
It could be that I am too analytical and it's only the first episode
and things could change. I will check out the threat and find out
what other people thought about it.
