The should just hold it in someone's garage as they did with the Golden Globes...no one cares about these award shows anyway...the ratings drop every year and they bore to no end.

The show is less about the awards and more about the pomp and circumstance surrounding the show: what the actors/actresses are wearing...

Unfortunately, it's not affecting all that reality show crap.

I'd like to see them all crash and burn like the Hindenburg.

Well of course, because reality shows are crappy AND the people starring in those shows don't have any loyalites regarding writers or the like....I'm sure reality programs have grown in number...

well given the fact there is a reality category in many of these award shows I fear they are here to stay....but then I'm not a TV or film exec.

O! Thanks for posting this! I couldn't get on the radio at 8:30 this morning to hear the release.

I can't say I'm a fan of the Oscars myself, but I do watch them. Sadly, I watch the awards that are rarely taped for TV. Beaten

The Oscars don't hold that much appeal for me as it used to .. as it's been a few years since I've watched ... but that's probably cause many of the films I do not care for. Grumble

None of the "Best Pictures" I have seen, except for No Country (which was OK) ... but I'm hoping to see Michael Clayton and There Will be Blood sometime soon.
