hahaha. Actually, I can't . . . THAT'S THE BIGGEST FONT SIZE THAT THIS BBS has to offer, hahah.
I'm just Hobbit-happy that LOR, despite what folks think of Academy Award wins, can say that they won in every category in which they were nominated. As someone who has lived with the tale since intermediate school (which was decades ago), I'm glad to see a cinematic take on a story of the magnitude that Tolkien gave to the world . . . trust me, there are a lot in the films that is uncovered when compared with the source material; at the same time, though -- unless Peter Jackson plans to extend the film (even longer than his director's cut) on DVD -- I think the next attempt toward making a live-action Lord of the Rings movie trilogy'll be done when we're all dead and gone.
Next to Star Wars, Peter Jackson's LOR trilogy is the one cinematic experience that your li'l kids'll end up asking you about.

Even though Peter didn't cover all of the book but he did manage to capture the essence. After all I have to salute him for dedicating himself for 7 yrs to make it into films. I've never regretted of sitting there and watch it for the whole 3 hrs for each film. His work definitely deserves appreciation and getting 11 nominations and swept it all is something that he's worthy of.

Amen, brotha.

Sorry to say . . . I can't agree with this one. "Harry Potter"'s gonna' have to prove his books and adventures can withstand the test of time. Rowling plans, what, only two more Harry Potter books? Look at a great American author, Nathaniel West -- he only had four books and, while hailed in academia (which I don't think Potter has a chance of doing), has a small, but powerful following; HOWEVER, not even close to the hordes of LOR and Star Wars fans world 'round to fuel popular and critical acclaim forever.
And in my book? "Encyclopedia Brown" trumps Potter just on brains alone.

Heh. No, it's probably me --
Actually Rowling and Potter are in a good position; we can all watch them make history if they're hailed throughout the ages. And, there's no mistaking that Rowling's the richest contemporary author out there right now. More power to her.

too much critics about the movie, Reloaded really sucked, with that theres not much chances of winning an oscar. Shouldve gotten nominated for the best action sci-fi movie which turned out to be a comedy, ROFL i was laughin my ass off when Trinity had the poles through her, and shes like "kiss me neo". And the TV part in reloaded? for the architecht when he's bored?

i WAS watching the Oscars until I thought it kind of got to boring.
I mean it was great that Lord of the Rings won almost everything, but it was boring just waiting and really knowing who was going to win the oscar n-e-ways.
So Congratulations LOTR. _________________ YuTaKA TaKEnOUchI RuLEz!

How abt instead of saying another man "HOT" a guy can change it into "Cool" perhaps in that way that guy won't be labelled?..
I sometime praised woman too but not too often..because If I praise woman to woman (and less man...) too often I might be labeled..
I stick to guys!..I LOVE HOT GUY !

It's yet another double standard that many cultures have, LOL. Although sometimes girls do come off strange by calling another girl "hot" or whatever. It depends on the situation. But I think we speak with more emphasis when talking about a guy being hot than if we talk about a girl being hot. At least that is how it is with me. Plus I'm not likely to say "hot" for a girl. I'll use some other word, most likely.

*eyes fukuda* - "damn she's hot!"
*eyes K. Reeves" - If i was a girl, i'd do him". on second thought, maybe that's what he's thinking too...LOL! _________________
