Welcome to JDorama. I suggest you start by searching with the correct key word Japanese as opposed to 'japanesse'. This site has a whole forum dedicated to learning about the Japanese, including their language and their culture. Poke around for more information.

So one of my friends have lived in Japan for a year and he told me something that was really cool. (Well, I think it's cool. ) He said that there, they don't take tips after you eat, and one time he forgot and left a tip, and the waiter chased after him for two blocks just to give him back his money.

I mentioned it to my parents and they were like "really?"

So I was wondering, would they actually do that, or is it just that one place?

True, in most Asian countries, it�Ls unusual to leave a tip.

I'm not surprised about the "no tip" protocol in Japan: Good/great service is about dedication, honor, personal satisfaction, etc., and not contingent upon the possibility of receiving a tip...
