Hi gaijinmark. I saw your posting a while ago, but didn't have time to say thanks. So, "Thanks for the good news!"
Once again, Takenouchi will be together with Narumi Riko - from Ruri no Shima and BOSS 2. I like her a lot. He will be playing "the ideal man to women." I bet the filmmakers had a list of "one name" for this role -- the man who got it. He seems perfect for the part. The director has a reputation for making slow, understated films, which suits Takenouchi's acting style, so they should be a good fit.
And now, September is not too far away, so the Olympic movie will be out soon. Then we have this to look forward to. I am anticipating all the press, so we will have more opportunities to see interviews, etc.

I mean, King of Apology will be out in September. I wonder how long it will be before the DVD is available? Even though Takenouchi's role is small, I am looking forward to the movie. It looks like it will be very funny.
See if you can open this link, for more on Yutaka in NY to promote the King Of Apology. He is definitely out of his usual self : posing and dancing in the street, demonstrating " apology" on stage...Ha ha Ha, our quiet and reserve guy has gone!

"Based on Naoki award-winning writer Hideo Okuda, "Olympic no Minoshirokin" will be adapted to a 2-part drama SP starring Kenichi Matsuyama and Yutaka Takenouchi. The TV Asahi drama's time setting is before the Tokyo Olympics took place in 1964 and will air this autumn.
The two actors will be playing opposite roles where Takenouchi's character 'Ochiai' is a police detective who makes sure that the then upcoming Olympics will be done smoothly while Matsuyama's role is a student at the University of Tokyo named 'Shimazaki' who plans to sabotage the event, believing that this is the reason why there is a gap between all sorts of people in the society.
Aside from filming in Japan, they also chose a certain place in Busan, South Korea since it mimics how Japan looked like back in 1964."
Sorry, they don't say exactly when it will be shown on TV.
Also, check out this video from a guy who attended the NY premiere of King of Apology. Takenouchi and Abe demonstrating the "dance" from Apology.

Woah. The trailer for Nishino Yukihiko... looks amazing! There is shirtless Takeno, kissing Takeno, Takeno with a puppy, sly smiling, etc. etc. I cannot wait!

I have read in a couple of Japanese blogs that Takenouchi-san's dog, Willy, has died. I feel so bad for him. The loss of a beloved pet causes a very special kind of sadness. His dog seemed like such a lovely companion, too. He is so good with animals. I hope that after he feels a bit better, he will be able to open his heart to another dog.

Yutaka Takenouchi & Yasuko Matsuyuki are cast in new movie AT HOME. The film is based on 2010 novel "at Home" by Takayoshi Honda and directed by Hiroshi Chono.
Interesting premise for the film, has Yutaka Takenouchi & Yasuko Matsuyuki playing husband and wife. They also have three children, but the family are not blood related. Meanwhile, the husband is a thief and the wife is a swindler. They support themselves through their crimes. The unexpected happens, when the wife goes out with a man to eventually swindle him. The man though discovers her plans and kidnaps her. The husband and the three children try to get their mother back.
AT HOME will be released sometime in 2015 in Japan.
(from AsianWiki)
A bit of a different role for him. I'm looking forward to seeing it. Good luck, Takenouchi san!
Right now, I am expecting the bluray for King of Apology to be delivered, and I have his latest one on order (coming out in August). I just need to find subs for them both online. His latest movie might be a bit difficult, since I don't think it did that well. I watched Mr. & Mrs. Ookii's Honeymoon in Hell without subtitles. That was an experience! I just started taking Japanese lessons (finally), but I think it will be quite some time before I can understand.
Takenouchi san will be in a new drama on Fuji TV starting in October (there is no definite start date). The show is called Select Taxi. Takenouchi san will be the driver of a cab that can take its passenger to any time in the past that the passenger chooses. Then the passenger can continue their life, making different decisions than they did originally. I think it will be a comedy, or at least have comic elements. There will be a guest star in every episode.
By the way, I got the Bluray for Nishino... no English subs, so I had no idea what was happening, but I watched it anyway. Good Lord! He has a few shirtless scenes in it. He is so lean; you can see every muscle in his chiseled torso. Where is the emoticon for drooling lust when you need it? His acting was also very good -- he has definitely grown as an actor in the last few years.

I was going to suggest the emoticon.
But I think this one is good too _________________

I'm up to episode 8 on this one. It's not laugh out loud funny but there's a lot of subtle humor in it. There are two running jokes throughout the drama. One about a fictional drama they're all watching called "Criminal Detective" (Is he a criminal or a detective?) and also about the lack of any sensation of time travel when they go back in time. So every episode he comes up with some cheesy idea to make the passengers feel like they've gone back in time. It's been pretty entertaining so far but sometimes you have to pay attention. In episode 8 the granddaughter, grandmother, and grandfather all went back in time at different times but you don't really realize it until the end and then think back to the beginning of the episode.
Edit: Just finished episode 9. They never went back in time but this was probably the funniest episode so far. Takenouchi has to deal with two of the stupidest criminals ever.
Yes, I noticed this, too. I am a bit surprised, because she doesn't seem like his usual type, but I actually thought they had good chemistry in Kimi ni mou ichido...
It seems they became close after his dog died. Now there are more rumours about marriage (as usual), and his father died in August. I have noticed in my life that when a person's parent passes away, they will often either marry or have children -- like they suddenly realize their own mortality.
Whatever he decides to do, I send him best wishes. I don't care too much about his private life, as long as he is not involved in any horrible scandals -- I just hope he continues to work on interesting projects, and that he is happy.

Takenouchi is currently filming a new movie, to be released in 2016. Such a long wait!
Life's Promise:
Yuma Nakahara (Yutaka Takenouchi) is the CEO of an IT company and he is a workaholic. He is focused only on expanding his company. He receives a phone call from his former co-worker and friend Kouhei, but Kouhei doesn't say anything. Yuma gets the sense that something is wrong and heads to Kouhei's hometown of Shinminato, Toyama Prefecture. (http://mydramalist.com/13556-lifes-promise)
I was hoping his film At Home would be released around now in Japan, so we could get the Blu-ray by the early fall, but the movie isn't showing until August. I wonder why there is such a long delay?
I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed Time Taxi. I thought the writing by Bakarythm was very strong. There was an episode where Takenouchi had to act like he was star-struck by a mangaka, and he did a good job of looking excited and trying to hide his excitement, while not seeming to make fun of all the people who must do that to him in real life. Kind of a fine line to walk, I think.

More details:
Yutaka Takenouchi to star in new movie "Jinsei Yakusoku"
Takenouchi Yutaka will be the lead in the new movie "Jinsei no Yakusoku" (Life's Promise) which will be shown in cinemas from January next year. He plays the role of the president of a IT company who returns to his hometown in Shin Minato, Imizu, Toyama Prefecture, after the death of his best friend. While back home, he meets up with his best friend's elder brother played by Eguchi Yosuke and the two clash over various things which lead to them resolving their differences eventually. This is the first time that they are working together.
Takenouchi and Eguchi were in Shin Minato recently for the filming of the climax scene in the movie supposedly to be during the local Hikiyama Matsuri which involved another 1,400 extras. Both of them had to join in the pulling of the 8-tonne floats used during the festival. The actors became good friends during the filming at Shin Minato over nice seafood and drinks. When asked about Eguchi who had to cut his hair short for the role, Takenouchi commented that Eguchi looked so convincing in his screen costume that he was mistaken as a local fisherman.
