Hi, I can read Chinese. I know that some enthusiatic fans in Baidu is keeping close watch of the documentary and see if they can get it download / upload after it is on air. So I shall keep you posted with any new information.
I enjoyed the photos from the link, too. He is in his true self and looked so charismatic , even without a trace of make-up. In the article that came with the photos, Yutaka said that it was valuable and intensive training, because Roberta was very strict and open, and striped his acting skills down to raw basic, pointing out inappropriate acting style that no one before has ever pointed out to him. She wants him to explore into his senses, his feelings ... and took him for a day to the zoo to observe animal's actions. She took Dustin Hoffman to observe and learn from squirrels when he got the part of Rainman.
I admire and respect Yutaka for his professionalism and search for improvement , being already a recognised distinguished actor in Japan and Asia, and still have the urge to move further forward! All the more, I remain to be a die-hard fan!!! :applaud: yes, I saw the picture of him with a fan in New York. She was SOOO excited.

Yutaka Takenouchi to release first calendar in 9 years
Takenouchi Yutaka will be releasing his first calendar in 9 years. The calendar, titled e2013 ONE DAY TOKYOe, was shot by photographer Amita Mari. It will be released on November 30th for 5,800 yen (approximately $73 USD).
This calendar was materialized after Takenouchi produced many good takes during a photo shoot for magazine eMULTIPLYe. Although he originally hadnft planned on releasing a calendar, he decided to release one because he felt it would be a waste to get rid of the pictures.
Amita Mari commented, gItfs natural that I take handsome pictures of Takenouchi-san, but I feel I was able to capture his kind and pure expressions even further. This time, I insisted on using film. Because I was able to do that, it turned out to be like a movie. I would like to photograph him again!h

At that price the horses may have a diet of bargain basement oats for awhile. But sometimes sacrifices have to be made.

Oh. My. Lord. I just saw that on Tokyohive. That will be my Christmas present to myself. I hope people outside of Japan are able to buy it, and that it can be shipped to Canada, etc. I just got to work, ready for a boring day, and now I can't stop grinning like a fool!
I like that rationale: all those handsome photos would go to waste! You can't tell me he hasn't taken a bunch of handsome photos in the past nine years. We should have had a calendar every year, no? Ah well, I shouldn't be greedy.

If anyone is unaware, you can pre-order the calendar on Amazon's Japanese website (the site will translate it to English for you, if you need it -- like I do).

So...the calendar was released on Friday and I got it on Monday! Not bad for going from Japan to Vancouver. It is more like a large-format photo book, and is not much use as a calendar. I really wanted it for the pictures anyway, like most people, but if I could have used it as a calendar it would have given me an excuse to hang it up in my little cubicle at work. He looks gorgeous, as expected.
Also, Yutaka will be in a movie called King of Apology (Shazai no Ousama / Ӎ߂̉l) which will be released in Japan on September 28, 2013. Unfortunately, he is not the star and is listed pretty low on the cast list.
The plot: Ryoro Kurojima (Sadao Abe) is the director of a Tokyo apology center. His job is to teach others how to apologize. Ryoro Kurojima solves problems by using his apology techniques on anything from simple arbitration to a national crisis.
Takenouchi plays a lawyer who has to apologize for a misdeed in the past which caused his daughter anguish.
Filming will finish middle January, 2013
Hmmm...not sure if it looks interesting or not. But I will be glad to see him in something new.

Hi Eve! Yay, you haven't disappeared!
The calendar is a very large-format, "arty" book, the majority of the pictures are quite grainy, most of them are black & white or very desaturated, and quite a few of them cross both pages (so he is in the middle of the book's binding).
The backgrounds aren't very interesting (pedestrian overpass, a couple of indoor shots. Lots of cement), and I think he is wearing only two different sets of clothes, so there isn't a lot of variety. It really is just "one day" of Takeno walking about in Tokyo. Other than his expressions, you don't really feel like you can learn anything about him. I'm really selling it here, aren't I?
However, there are a couple of very good shots that I will try to scan on the weekend when no one else is at work... It doesn't look like there is much (if any) Photoshopping going on, and our man still looks great.

My absolute fave:
The facing page has just his hands cropped from this photo. They know what we like!
His eyes are always so intense in pictures. He can convey a lot of expression just through his eyes. I also love the character that is being added to his face as he ages (even his hands/forearms). I think he will be able to take on more varied roles from now.

Hi all, it's my first time posting, but i've been lurking here for several weeks now. Just want to know if any one of you heard of rumors between Takenouchi and Emi Wakui, his co-star in Mou Ichido Kimi ni Propose. I found this link and Google translated the content, but i'm sure there's lots that are lost in translation. Can anyone take a look and confirm what happened between the two?

Hey everyone! Wow, this thread has died, huh? I, too, have read badly-translated rumours about our favourite actor being seen with Emi Wakui, but that doesn't stop us from admiring him, right?
I read that he seemed quite nervous as the co-host of the Blue Ribbon awards this year, but I think that was expected. The pictures from this year's event look almost exactly the same as last year's. He doesn't change.
Besides the King of Apology movie, which finished filming in January (I think), has anyone heard any rumours of upcoming dramas or other work starring Takeno? I keep checking around the web for anything new, but my hopefullness is always squashed with no news.

Hi! I am back. These are what he is, has been doing in recent months.
1. New Roots CM, out 15.4 ( tomorrow)!
2. Participated in a movie with 6 stories, something about the Art of Apologies,He starred in one of them, playing a high-flyer lawyer having to apologise to his (12? year old) daughter whom he had not seen since divorced some years ago. This was filmed in January, to be released in September this year.
3. Working on something ( mini series ?of 5 hours long) titled translated to be Olympic Ransom, based on a book about the time of 1964 Olympic. He played a cop opposite a young actor who played a Tokyo University student.
There! These are what I have been picked up from Baidu and also Japanese webs. Hope fans' interest would be rekindled and held, until these works come out.

Hi Sunny! Thank you so much for the updates. I have been looking on baidu, etc. but the translations are really terrible, so I often can't figure out what people are saying. I know about the King of Apologies movie, but I hadn't heard about the other one. I hope it will come out soon. King of Apologies won't be released in Japan until September, I think, so it will be even longer before I can see it here (in Canada).
In the meantime, I have been watching some of Takeno's older shows. I finally made myself watch Ana sora wo oboeteru (Wenny Has Wings), which I had been avoiding because I knew it would be really sad. Of course, I cried from beginning to end. Yutaka wasn't called upon to do much until the last part of the movie, but he is so, so good in it. The boy who plays his son is really good as well. That is amazing -- kid actors are usually not very dependable, but he had to pretty much carry the movie, and he did it very well.
Well, I depend on you to keep me updated. I hope you are enjoying your spring weather. The cherry trees are blooming everywhere here, the sun is shining, and I am so happy to finally be able to go for walks, after so much winter rain.
Sorry, I try to uploaed a photo from Baidu about Yutaka's on site shooting of the new movie " Olympic Ransom", but failed. Anyway, he had hairstyle of a 60s' cop, clean shaven, and wear while shirt and dark tie. Very serious. At least glad to see the shaggy hair and beard gone, at least for a film.

Hi Sunny! Thanks for the updates. I haven't been able to find anything about Olympic Ransom. Can you put in the URL for the website where you found the picture?
Also, this is a bit off-topic, but I would like to send out my best wishes to Takenouchi's friend, Amami Yuki, who suffered from a minor heart attack recently. Get lots of rest Amami-san, you beautiful and funny lady! I loved you in Toshiie to Matsu, Fumo Chitai, and especially BOSS. Get well soon!
Yes, Scorpio, it is confirmed that Amami Yuki had a mild heart attacked on 6 may, while playing a role in " Napoleon" on stage. It was reported not serious and she was not hospitalized for long. Stil, she may need to quit smoking and looks after her health.
By the way, Kenon and the TV station have kept the shooting of "Olympic Ransom" tightly under cover, the latest bits of news that came out is that
another big name, KARASAWA TOSHIAKI ( starred in " The Waste Land" and co-starring Yutaka in Oba, the Last Samurai) has joined the cast. it is a production to look forward to.

Well, shall keep updating.
I loved Amami in Toshiie. Glad she is alright. _________________

Yutaka Takenouchi to star in 'Nishino Yukihiko no Koi to Bouken'
On July 28, it was announced that actor Takenouchi Yutaka will be starring in the film adaptation of Kawakami Hiromi's novel, 'Nishino Yukihiko no Koi to Bouken'.
The women who will be involved in love relationships with Takenouchi's character will be played by actresses Ono Machiko, Narumi Riko, Kimura Fumino, Honda Tsubasa, Aso Kumiko, Agawa Sawako, and Nakamura Yurika. It will be directed by Iguchi Nami and is scheduled to open in theaters sometime in February of 2014.
The story of 'Nishino Yukihiko no Koi to Bouken' revolves around a man named 'Nishino Yukihiko', who wanders around looking for true love. The story is told from the perspectives of different women that he is involved with. Nishino is handsome, hardworking, good in bed, and is without a question kind to women. Although he is popular with women, the women are always the ones who leave him in the end.
In the movie, Ono will play Nishino's superior, Narumi and Kimura will play his neighbors, Honda will play his ex-girlfriend, Aso will play the married woman he fell in love with 10 years ago, Agawa will play a housewife who falls in love with him at a cooking school, and Nakamura will play a 15-year-old girl who holds the key to the story.
Regarding the cast, Takenouchi commented, "They are all wonderful people... It was a very happy movie set." He also shared his thoughts on his role, "As a man myself, there are many things about Nishino Yukihiko that I am having a hard time understanding. As such, since we had a lot of women on set, I received many opinions from them starting with our director. One way or another, I am trying to understand Nishino Yukihiko, who is the ideal man to women."
