I've recently been getting back into Jdramas, what are some good ones from recent years? I want adult dramas, no teens, high school, children, etc. Also, no depressing ones about illness or dark/horror dramas. Female centered would be great. This is part of what I loved about Doctor X, yet it seems to be rare in Asian dramas sadly.

Offbeat/quirky: Suteki na Sen Taxi, Quartet, Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi, Fuben na Benriya
Rom-com: Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi
Food: Tenno no Ryoriban, Shinya Shokudo series
Fantasy: Seirei no Moribito
Cats: Neko Zamurai
There have been quite a few excellent crime procedurals such as Cold Case, BORDER and Kageri Yuku Natsu, but they are all pretty dark. _________________

Hi y'all! I'm looking for more dramas similar to "Tsubaki Bunguten"...I totally liked this, it reminded me of two of my favorite manga ("Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou" and "Aqua/Aria")...deep, relaxing, full of "mono no aware"! Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

Been awhile since i frequent the forums, life happens and got busy.
Anyway, started watching Dai Renai and it made me crave for more of the same.
Do you have any love story dramas to recommend - ones that have been released in the last 5 years or so?

It's from more than 5 years ago, but Beautiful Life (2000) might be what you're looking for. _________________
