Arashi gives 300 million yen to disaster relief efforts in northern Japan

On October 2nd, Arashi donated approximately 300 million yen to the disaster-stricken regions in northern Japan. About 50 million yen comprises the members�f total royalties received from the sale of the pocket edition of their book �gNippon no Arashi.�h The remaining amount comes from the publisher�fs revenues on the book and from the sale of goods at their charity event at Tokyo Dome in June.

�gNippon no Arashi�h is a book created by Arashi�fs members about local culture across Japan. The original edition was donated to elementary through high school students at about 40,000 schools nationwide in September of last year. The book�fs popularity led to the general release of the pocket edition in June of this year, and it has sold approximately 420,000 copies since then.

Arashi split their donations between the Iwate, Mitagi, and Fukushima prefectures, with each one receiving about 100 million yen. The three prefectures were hit the hardest by the massive earthquake and tsunami that occurred this past March.

The members of Arashi plan to continue their support of the ongoing disaster relief efforts.

Arashi to release new single and DVD/Blu-Ray

Arashi will release their new single "Dare mo Shiranai" on May 28th.

"Dare no Shiranai" will be used as the theme song for Ohno Satoshi's starring drama 'Shinigami-kun' which will begin its broadcast on TV Asahi starting April 18th. The single will be released in both limited and regular editions. Aside the title and coupling tracks, the limited edition will come with a DVD containing the PV for "Dare mo Shiranai". Meanwhile, the regular edition will come with 2 songs that will not be included in the limited edition.

In addition, Arashi will release a live DVD/Blu-ray titled 'ARASHI Arafes '13 NATIONAL STADIUM 2013' on May 21st. This will feature the group's live from September 22nd of last year at National Olympic Stadium.

Arashi to hold 15th anniversary concert in Hawaii

On May 7, it was announced that Arashi would be holding their 15th anniversary live concerts titled "ARASHI BLAST in Hawaii" on September 19th and 20th in Oahu, Hawaii.

Reportedly, they will set up a special open-air stage with a view of the ocean in the suburbs of Honolulu, and a total of 30,000 audience members will attend the 2-day live concerts.

For Japanese fan club members attending the concerts, there will be a tour to Hawaii with a charter flight, and also, there will be reserved seats for the local fans.

Hawaii is a special place for Arashi members, as they held their debut press conference on the cruise ship off the coast of Honolulu, back on September 15 1999. After the debut, Arashi's live concert in Hawaii was once planned for November 2001, however, it was canceled in consequence of the September 11 attacks.

Although they held a fan event in Hawaii in 2002, they never had a chance to hold a live concert there.

Member Sakurai Sho commented, "That's the place of our start, so we always wanted to do that. We were wishing to hold an anniversary event in Hawaii." Fellow member Aiba Masaki added, "I want people who have been supporting us from way back to come to the concert. I want to share the memory with them."

Sakurai also gave his idea for the concert, "Since it will be by the ocean, we want to do something special which can be done only there, such as entering the stage from the ocean or sky."

Arashi movie to get a spin-off

There will be a spin-off movie of "PIKA��NCHI" series which stars all the Arashi members, 10 years after the previous release.

The spin-off will be titled "PIKA������NCHI LIFE IS HARD Tabun HAPPY" (read as "Pikanchi Half"), and this will mark the first time in 7 years for the members to star in a same movie together since "Kiiroi Namida", released in 2007.

The series' first movie titled "PIKA��NCHI LIFE IS HARD Dakedo HAPPY" was Arashi's first starring film all together, and was released in October of 2002. It was about the youth of 5 high school students that lived in multi-unit apartments called Yashio Danchi.

3 years later in 2004, its sequel "PIKA����NCHI LIFE IS HARD Dakara HAPPY" (read as "Pikanchi Double") was also released, and it featured the reunion of the 5 guys in their 20s.

For the spin-off episode, it will depict the 5 guys that are now in their 30s, and have a reunion after 10 years as they're running into problems with their family or work.

This spin-off will be placed as the series' "2.5th" work, as Matsumoto Jun explains, "If we placed it as the 3rd release, it would be too high of a hurdle. We want to enjoy it loosely from the '2.5th' position."

Though Arashi sang the theme songs for both previous films, they will not be singing for this spin-off as it's the "2.5th" work.

Reportedly, the plan for the spin-off was started in April. Ninomiya Kazunari also says the film will be "quite loose, since it suddenly started."

"PIKA������NCHI LIFE IS HARD Tabun HAPPY" will be screened limitedly at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL during August 1st to the 31st.

ARASHI announces new album and 5 dome tour

Arashi announced during the last showing of their event "Arashi's Waku Waku School 2014" at the Tokyo Dome on June 29 that they will be holding a 5-Dome tour this year as well.

As the event came to an end, member Sakurai Sho started off by saying, "We have a very important announcement." Next, member Aiba Masaki said, "In Fall, we will be releasing our 13th original album." and then Matsumoto Jun added, "We will also go on tour. This year it's also going to be a 5-Dome tour."

Starting at the Fukuoka Dome on November 14 to Tokyo Dome on December 23, there will be 18 performances in total housing over 845,000 fans. This will be the largest 5-Dome tour in the history of the group.

This is the 4th time that Arashi has held the "Waku Waku School" event, which is made to resemble a "stay over in school" event. There were 6 sessions of the event held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka and Tokyo Dome, engaging over 246,000 fans. Furthermore, the last session was also broadcast in Shanghai and Singapore, where 950 lucky fans were able to watch the event live.

The last show in each location will begin at 4pm. All the other concerts will begin at 6pm.

Arashi two day live in Hawaii to be shown live in Japan

Arashi will be holding a two-day live called 'ARASHI BLAST in Hawaii' on September 19 and 20 to commemorate their 15th anniversary. It's also been revealed that the concert will be available for live viewing in 209 movie theaters across Japan.

Hawaii is a special place for the members of Arashi as they held their debut press conference on a cruise ship off the coast of Honolulu. Fans in Japan who weren't able to get their hands on tickets will be able to enjoy the performance on the big screen.

Ticket pre-reservations for the live viewing will take place via Arashi's official website until September 7.

Arashi to release Hawaii concert on DVD and Blu-ray

Arashi will release a live DVD / Blu-ray titled 'ARASHI BLAST in Hawaii' on April 15.

Last September, Arashi held their 15th anniversary live in Hawaii. The DVD / Blu-ray will start and end with the group's debut song "A�ERA�ESHI", with their hit singles making up most of the set list. It will also come with a documentary featuring behind-the-scene footage.

The limited editions will also come in a special package with a 150-page booklet.

ARASHI to release 'Digitalian' tour and DVD and Blu-Ray

Arashi's 5-major dome tour 'ARASHI LIVE TOUR 2014 THE DIGITALIAN' will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on July 29.

'ARASHI LIVE TOUR 2014 THE DIGITALIAN' was held to coincide the release of Arashi's new album "THE DIGITALIAN" (released in October of 2014). They held a total of 18 shows in November and December. The new DVD and Blu-ray will feature the Tokyo Dome concert held in December.

The limited edition will come with 3 discs. The privilege disc will include behind-the-scene footage called "Suppin Digitalian" that the members recorded.

Arashi to release new album in October

Arashi will release their new album "Japonism" on October 21.

The album will feature the group's singles, such as "Sakura" and "Aozora no Shita, Kimi no Tonari", as well as the member's solo songs. It will be available for purchase in three different types: Limited Edition, Regular Edition, and Yoikoto Edition. The Limited Edition will come with a DVD containing the PV and making footage for a new number. Meanwhile, the Regular Edition will include four bonus tracks. Finally, the Yoikoto Edition will come with a cover of Shounentai's "Nihon Yoitoko Maka Fushigi" and members' talk tracks.

Arashi is preparing for the release of their new single "Ai wo Sakebe" on September 2. The single will be released in both limited and regular editions.

Arashi to release Miyagi concert on DVD and Blu-Ray

Arashi will release their concert "ARASHI BLAST in Miyagi", which was held in September at Hitomebore Stadium Miyagi, on DVD and Blu-ray on New Year's Day.

"ARASHI BLAST in Miyagi' was held over a period of 4 days for 208,000 fans. With hopes of reaching out to disaster areas, Arashi performed their song "Kansha Kangeki Yume Arashi" with a Miyagi high school chorus club and collaborated with "Suzume Odori" ("Sparrow Dance"), a traditional folk dance of Miyagi.

The first press edition of the DVD and Blu-ray will come with a 48-page photo book and a "BLAST letter set".

Arashi to release new double A-side single in May

Arashi will release a new single titled "I seek/Daylight" on May 18.

The single will be available for purchase in three different editions: Limited Edition 1, Limited Edition 2, and Regular Edition. The limited editions will come with a CD including the two title tracks as well as a DVD. Limited Edition 1 will include the PV and making-of footage for "I seek", while the Limited Edition 2 will contain the PV and making-of footage for "Daylight". The Regular Edition will come with two additional songs.

Arashi to release their 50th single in September

Arashi's 50th single entitled "Power of the Paradise" will be released on September 14th. The title track will be used as the theme song for NTV's "Rio de Janeiro 2016".

The 50th single will have both limited edition (CD + DVD) and standard editions (CD only). The DVD that comes with the limited edition will contain a music video to the title track as well as its making-of video, while the standard edition will include a track entitled "Hana".

This will be the group's third single this year.

Details on Arashi's new album 'Are You Happy?'

Arashi's new album "Are You Happy?" will be released on October 26th.

The album will feature a total of 16 songs, including their singles "Ai wo Sakebe", Fukkastus LOVE", "I seek", and "Daylight" in addition to 7 brand new songs and the members' solo songs. Ninomiya Kazunari wrote the lyrics for his own solo song, and Sho Sakurai was in charge of the lyrics for his solo song and the group's new song "To my homies".
