hmm... i say, two options, split the responsibilities and pampering according to how much each make, OR share it equally regardless bc u love each other enough to do it (thats the ideal... but we all know thats pretty rare!) If nothing works, ask Dr. Phil!

As long as the man is the breadwinner, the woman can't tell him that he has to do things himself. Providing that the man is the breadwinner, the woman has what she has mostly because of him. Now if the woman was the breadwinner, well then, it's a different story.

It's becoming more acceptable in Japan for Japanese to date Kokujin.
Although it's not as acceptable as it is in the states yet, Japanese are opening up to the idea. Older folk are still having a hard time coping with the issue. But, you do nowadays see more and more Japanese going with hakujin and kokujin.
Japanese are also beginning to express influences from kokujin. Japanese rap, baggy clothes, bandanas, one side of their pants rolled up, interest in American rap (Eminem, Tupac, etc.), braids, dreadlocks, list goes on..... So, I guess it's safe to conclude that Japanese do like kokujin. (In Hawaii, it's very common to see a Japanese with a kokujin)

Like you said.
But as more and more Japanese keep on going to different countries for school, work, whatever, they will be introduced to the fact that inter racial relationships do exist. Then they will become so comfortable with the fact and "forget" what they've been taught or told about it from Japanese society. As these kids keep on bringing home Kokujin, Hakujin, Kankokujin, Chugokujin, (whatever) "significant other halves", Japanese society is becoming "numb" to the idea already.
As for being the "norm", just give it time. Not too long from now, I bet it won't even be an issue anymore. (Except for those racist families up there. Like how we still got those freakin' KKK beleivers in America. -assholes!)

I'd say maybe in more urban Japan and major port cities, people are changing to the ideas of non-Japanese are ok. But for the majority of Japan? I'd say no way. Some people consider black people 'cool.' But you wouldn't wanna bring one home to your folks, you know? Even white folks aren't really all that accepted. The younger generation is definitely changing, but I have the say there's nothing close to 'universal' or even partial acceptance of a relationship with non-Japanese. There is only sometimes grudging tolerance, like if a Japanese girl likes a foreigner, the parents will kinda accept the guy in hopes that 'she sees the light' and breaks up with him.
As for foreign women and Japanese men? It's even more unlikely, as the boys usually carry on the family line. Many families don't want to see their Japanese family blood 'diluted.' The foreigner women situation in Japan is kinda sad, I always hear complaints about it.
As for all this talk about gender roles, well, it's interesting...notice how not many female posters have posted? hehe

You think maybe they're the one recieving the pick up lines, not giving it. _________________

We loved the black guys in Tokyo. First off, they were mostly FOBs from Africa, but they'd were Yanks caps and tell girls they were from Harlem. Meanwhile, they had thick accents. But we loved them because most of the girls who like black guys were ugly or not going to get a guy anyway, and those guys really didn't know the difference between cute and horrendous.
But when a CUTE girl was into black guys, now that's just puzzling...
As for the Japanese fascination with "black" culture, that's just said. I see guys walking around with 4 foot fros coming from their head with a Yanks placed gingerly on top; someone needs to stop these guys in the street and exclaim "you will never ever ever be black, ESPECIALLY below the belt. Deal with it!"
First post... good? too honest?
