I didn't check this thread til now.... realizing the site has been up for half a year already! I had kept the old link bookmarked and would visit it once a month and then be disappointed that it is not back up.

Hey! I was just over at Nakatanifan's site, and clicked on Miki's official site, roomsnakatani.com and for the first time, she has some of it up in English!
Not everything thing. The BBS section doesn't work in English, and she doesn't have as many pictures of herself up as the Frontier site has. But it's progress!
What can I say? Of all the Japanese Actresses I'm deeply in love with... Miki is my fav. _________________

The easiest way to find out which dramas an actor or actress has been in is to look at the top of this page. See where it says Dramas: and Artistes: followed by the alphabet? For Nakatani you just click on the N in the Artistes column and it will bring you to:
Aside from the dramas listed there, Miki has stared in movies like Ringu, Ringu 2, Chaos, Hotel Venus, Beautiful Dreamer (which was the "Keizoku" movie made for theatrical release) When the Last Sword is Drawn, and a few others. _________________

Geezer...
is she the one acting in "otousan" as one of the sister among Iijima Naoko, Fukada Kyoko & Hirosue Ryoko?? if she is the one... then i know who is she... i like her acting in it... she is such a sensible girl of her "otousan"....
She played the second oldest girl in Otousan, the one that originally took care of the restaurant. I loved her in that series!!

Next up, "Rikidozan", the story of the guy who is considered the Godfather of Pro Wrestling in Japan. According to the sites I've read, he was also very heavily connected to the Tokyo Mafia. Miki seems to be playing the dutiful Wife in this one.
Like "Hotel Venus" I think this is a Korean movie. The Official site:
It's a caper movie about 6 swindlers who reunite on a train to divy up their loot, and how they try to screw one another. Kippei Shiina co-stars. _________________

Okay, since I did in fact get a copy of Hotel Venus for Christmas, I figured I'd post something about the movie.
I already put this comment over in the Japanese Movie section, but for any of the Miki fans out there:
I just watched Hotel Venus, and I was floored.
I guess most know the back story on this film. A Japanese / Korean movie, the cast made up of actors from both countries, with everyone speaking Korean... all filmed in an unnamed city, which was actually Vladivostok.
This is a movie that just doesn't fit into any of the normal catagories that Japanese movies usually fit into these days. A stylish, melancholy, character study of a group of unrelated losers. They've each, for their own reasons, gathered at the Hotel Venus as sort of a safe refuge. A last chance to gather themselves, to see if they can regain their balance... to see if they can handle the weight of their lives.
Okay, it's a lot better than I just made it sound.
To be honest, I got this movie simply because Miki Nakatani was in it. But as with "When the Last Sword is Drawn" I got it to see Miki, and ended up really liking the whole movie.
The movie is in black and white... it's more than 2 hours long... and it felt like it shot by in about 15 minutes.

yt,
Densha Otoko?
Thanks for the update.
I looked up Densha Otoko and this is a piece I found on the original story:
"Trainman (Densha Otoko), a love-story original born on the popular 2 Channel message board, and later published by Shinchou, is going to receive four completely separate manga adaptations for serialization in four competing magazines.
Trainman, which captured the public attention on 2 Channel in March of 2004, tells the story of a 22-year old otaku who is interested in "Miss Hermes," an attractive young woman he saved from an annoying drunk on the train on his way home from Akihabara.
On 2 Channel, "Trainman" sought advice from fellow-otaku on how he should approach Miss Hermes and reported back on the progress of his relationship, while receiving encouragement from hundreds of online well-wishers.
A collection of these posts, spanning a period of 2 months, was published by Shinchou in autumn 2004 , and sold 260,000 copies in just 3 weeks and half a million copies in 2 months. In the process, the story garnered the attention of several manga anthologies, leading to a rather unique situation...
Not only is Trainman the first successful novel to be created from Internet message board postings (although there are some similarities with the situation in My Sassy Girl), but it is now also the first novel to be independently adapted into four different manga for serialization in four different manga anthologies at roughly the same time.
The piece refers to a "Miss Hermes"
Miki's web site says she'll be playing the part of "Erumesu".
I guess it sort of sounds like a Japanese version of Miss Hermes. _________________
