I don't think Yada Akiko is all that attractive...she has her moments of cuteness, but she sounds like her nasal passages are stuffed, and especially in YN, she wears way too much makeup.
I'll admit, Nanako-san was pretty irritating during the series, but that's only because she played her part so perfectly. I wouldn't have felt right if Osuke had hooked up with Wakabe...the whole theme of the series was that love conquers money (and only Nanako's change of heart brings this theme out).
And besides, Nanako is unlike any other Japanese actress I've seen. She doesn't dote on her cuteness or her petite frame. She's a very refined, alluring woman with a long body...she's definitely not the norm in the pool of Japanese actresses.
Kim Hee Sun is extremely attractive. I just think she has a very atypical look...Nanako San has a much more refreshing appearance. No one competes with Nanako in terms of womanliness.
And Koreans have a longer history with dramas, so I wouldn't automatically rule out this new series.
Whom does the Yamato Nadeshiko-title refer to? I know it refers Nanako but she isn't the traditional type of woman who would be a good housewife and do house chores.
I meant it'd refer to Nanako as Jinno Sakurako. As her character Nanako played. Aargh! Why do I have to type unclearly? Gotta recheck before before submittin the post.

Pemu, I think the title is just refering to just in general, "traditional JPN woman". I mean, even tho that sakurako is to say the least, fairly materialistic, she DOES have some trait in her to show to me that she could be pretty traditional. Not in a sense to cooking, cleaning or whatever, but to really love the person she ends up with.
Ghil04, I know I'm a minority in what I'm going to say, but I think nanako is just a plain looking girl. Yeah, i know that everyone has a different opinion, but it's not that i just didn't like her character in Y.Nadeshico, I thought she was pretty funny there actually. Even in maho no joken, GTO, and even whiteout, I thought she looked fairly vanilla. I can say this tho, she does have skills as a leading actress.

Hyuk was saved by Jin Da-rae (Yu Jin), but is traumatized by the accident and thinks that his dead mother came back to save him. Da-rae's father, Manager Jin, was killed on the same day in a different accident.
About a year later, Da-rae meets Hyuk again on an orange farm but they have a dislike for each other. Love blossoms later, however, when Hyuk goes back to an island to save Da-rae, when she has to look for her missing purse (that was thrown away by jealous Cho Su-kyong (Lee Yu Ri)) and misses the boat back from the island. Su-kyong has her heart set on Hyuk when she discovers that he is the eldest son of Chairman Lee.
Because of Da-rae, Hyuk decides to change his ways and starts to work for his father. He buys a pearl ring for Da-rae. Before he can give it to her, he learns that her father's death was not an accident but was actually a murder. He keeps his real identity from Da-rae when she reveals to him that Chairman Lee might be the one who had her father killed and is trying to get the diary containing the proof.
The plot of the drama revolves around the murder, family disapprovals, Su-kyong's schemes to break up Hyuk and Da-rae's relationship and a "framebar" that Hyuk cherishes.
Chairman Lee dies, the company business fails and Hyuk has to go to Hawaii to rebuild the business. Because of the framebar, Hyuk discovers before he leaves that it was Da-rae who saved his life.
