Yeah him too.
He's 30 ++ yrs and perhaps that's why people don't seem to like him as much as his younger colleagues. But i have to say he's still looking good, and his acting is superb. The best thing about him? He seems to be very low-profile... not attention grabbing at all. Is that right?
To be fair, he was once a hot, popular icon in Japan too, it's just that the peak of his career is now over.

Ryoko Shinohara - very few main events
Hideaki Ito - same thing, only good role was in Ai wo Kudasai and No Lover on the upper card, but not much since
Naomi Nishida - no main events at all, can do better than supporting roles
Hiroshi Abe - as above
Tomoka Kurotani - as above
Manami Konishi - perhaps in a few years? I'd give her a matter of months
Older guys such as Eguchi, Takaya Kamikawa, Yanagiba and Karasawa are going down the hill so they're OK. Younger guys/girls like Sakaguchi, Oshio, Koizumi, or Megumi Okina are still rookies, despite their age, because unlike Takky or Fukada they started late.

Actually, he was one of the most popular leading men in the early nineties after his breakthrough performance in Tokyo Love Story (this and Long Vacation are the two shows I think everyone should watch. This especially because itfs the birth of modern doramas) . His career slowed, only a little, after some not so popular dramas but had a resurgence of sorts after 24 Hour Emergency. He isnft acting as much as he used to though (maybe slowly going into retirement?). The lack of info. on him is probably because his fame started before the internet boom of the mid-nineties. This is true for most jdorama stars in the same boat (for example his Tokyo Love Story co-star Suzuki Honami). But if you want to know more about him, try asking jdorama fans who have been watching for ten+ years or you can try asking Genmac...I believe Genma is a big fan of both him and Tokyo Love Story.

Since his heyday as Jdorama idol was in the 90's I don't think there'd be much information about him. Besides he's a mature actor. The same applies to Yuji Oda. These actors are so popular during the early 90's. They even sang and released their album as well. Yosuke and Yuji are now quite active in the film until now. I've watched two films where Yosuke was in it i.e Swallotail Butterfly and Another Heaven. There are many J-films where he starred in it as leading actor.
I also agree that perhaps the lack of info about him was due to his stardom started prior the internet booming. And also as his a mature actor now, more of his fans are also mature audience who probably do not have time to dedicate themselves to make yosuke eguchi's website (hehehehe..)
And..he's happily married now maybe that's also another factor why he's not in the limelight anymore | wow really.... well to be honest i didn't know about jdorama in the early 90's.... i was like 10 years old and stuff..... still i'm sorry i missed his popularity peak! he is 30+..... but people like Watabe Atsuro still get leading roles...and i don't even like that guy! can any1 help me find some good Yosuke Eguchi fan sites then? cuz i can't find any good ones.....

I can't find any GOOD ones as well. Most are already outdated... stuck in the era of Under the same roof 2 and Kyumei Byoto 24 ji part ONE...

Anyway, it's good to know somebody who likes his acting..btw he also has a great voice. He got married to a singer Moritaka Chisato. Too bad I could not find any update website about him. Most of the websites are related to Tokyo Love Story, "the Drama" that boosted J-trendy drama all over the world.

She's pretty underrated for a leading actress, but she's superb as a supporting actress. Almost all of the dramas she's been in, she has had a supporting role. But that's not to say that it's bad, because in some shows I can't imagine a better person in the role.
She used to only get cutesy roles (e.g. Good Luck, the old one, not the recent one with Takuya Kimura), or scary roles because of her big eyes (e.g. The Ring Final, The Spiral, Hypnosis). She was absolutely the best in Yamato Nadeshiko. I basically watched that show for her & not Matsushima Nanako.
I believe her 'debut' as a leading actress came in 2001 with the movie Crossfire, where she plays an OL with the ability of pyrokinesis.

Thanks for the info Happyfeet. I really like Akiko Yada in Hotman. She seems prettier now. She was kind of spooky and kooky in Hypnosis.

Sorry to get off topic...but I thought the ending to Summer Scent was kind of dumb.
I thought it was neat she got a new heart but when it raced it would have shown that she still loved Min Woo and he still loved her. Which is kind of what happened but they could have had one more episode where they ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after. Ha ha!

Actually if you thought she was scary in Hypnosis you shouldn't watch her in The Spiral.
She plays Sadako there.
