Well, a bunch of us (his wife, daughter, daughter's boyfriend, etc.) were going to go, then "something came up" and now no one's going... And he tells me at the last minute, so I can't make other arrangements... Grrr.
Went today to catch the parade...man...it was blazing!!! But got some free crap from the KIIS hummer...so kudos to that...But yah...it was okay
Yeah, I heard it was gonna be hot out there... Any idea who won the Miss Nisei Week prize? Judging from the photos at the web site, there wasn't much to choose from...

I went again on Sunday for the parade. I didn't know that somehow, I would end up in the parade helping to carry the mikoshi at the end. That was really one of the strangest experiences I have ever had. At least they gave us a couple of shots of sake before we started out. I just kept on yelling and chanting to keep my mind from thinking about how heavy the thing was. Now, I have a really bad bruise on my shoulder, but I had fun and I would do it again. _________________

Cool! They did that last year as well... Weird, wild stuff... Man, when you're buzzed, you can do just about anything...

All you have to do is drink a few more bottles of sake, then the queen would look alot hotter! (Beer googles...............wait..........sake goggles to be more exact!) _________________

It was funny, back in April at the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco's Nihonmachi (Japantown), they had this little shrine, with sake tables next to it. If you donated at the shrine, the obaasans would give you some sake.
So I went there and made a donation... and I'm not sure why, maybe because it wasn't that crowded, my GF and I actually look nihonjin, and they had tons of sake to give away, but the obaasans kept trying to give me shot after shot of sake!
I had to stop because I had to go take an exam at 2PM that afternoon!

That is weird, I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival too, but I didn't see anyone passing out sake., or maybe I just missed it. _________________

It was on a Saturday... can't recall if it was the first or second Saturday of Sakura.
The shrine was set up on the street, right in front of the peace plaza, facing toward the cobblestone fountains between the Denny's and Soko Hardware. The sake tables were next to the shrine, going up the hill.

I didn't remember about the shrine part, but I did attend the ceremony where they were making mochi. It was pretty cool! _________________

None of the girls in this year's court were very good looking, IMO. I've seen a lot of good looking Japanese gals at UCLA and CSULB, where are they?

LOL...
My cousin fits that mold... back in the day she was too busy clubbing and partying to do anything else. She's one of the few nihonjin I know to not date hakujin, as is typically the case in the USA.

It is pretty typical for asians to date people of other races these days. I guess people are just more open-minded nowadays. _________________
