another report from japan-zone
The year-end wedding rush continues, with the latest announcement coming from actress Matsu Takako (30). She and musician Sahashi Yoshiyuki (46) chose yesterday, an auspicious "taian" day on the traditional calendar, to tie the knot on a relationship of six years. Messages of congratulation came from Matsu's father, actor Matsumoto Koshiro (65), and brother, kabuki actor Ichikawa Somegoro (36) as well as a host of other celebrities. The couple first started going out when Sahashi took part in Matsu's nationwide concert tour in 2001. He also participated in the recording of her latest album, "Cherish You", which was released in April. Matsu told the president of her management agency of their wedding plans at the end of September. Yesterday's announcement was sent to the media by fax and the couple have no plans to hold a press conference, wedding ceremony or reception. It is the second marriage for Sahashi, who divorced in 1998.
omedetou to matsu takako. i wonder if kimura sent her a congratulatory message since they've known each other for so long. _________________
It says, no pregnancy, yet no plans of press conference, no wedding ceremony nor reception.
And in the very last paragraph, it says:
Kimura Takuya, her co-star in HERO The Movie had also give comments on this. He said, "Medetai(congratulations)! Medetai! Medetai!".
Somehow, I feel something is not right with this marriage. First, this is the same man Matsu broke up with, 2 years ago, due to her parents' disapproval. I can see why, the man is old enough to be her uncle, and he's a divorcee. He once got a divorce in 1998.
Second, they registered their marriage without holding a press conference beforehand, and just suddenly announced their marriage in their respective official websites.
On the next morning after their announcements on the websites, I set my tape recorder, but I don't know what time Matsu news will be on. So I set my tape from 6 AM to 12 PM. From that 6 hours span, I was expecting to see a press conference, or at least, a direct interview of Matsu and/or Sahashi and/or Koshiro-san, her father.
But what do I get? Only 1 min 30 secs clip of Matsu news (in those 6 hours). And NOT even a press con, and NOT a direct interview. It's more like a message, voiced/read by another person, and they just put up old clips of Matsu, Sahashi, and Koshiro's family, and also with Matsu songs and some touching music as background.
Matsu's message: Sahashi Yoshiyuki is a comrade, a friend in the music world, the job that I love, he is also a best friend. He is a kind person who cares about other people, and he has a strong heart.
Matsumoto Koshiro's message: Takako, congratulations on your marriage. To be honest, it never occurs to me, that Takako will ever be a bride. When you were born, you were only a baby who grab onto my fingers with a cute smile. So right now, I feel like dreaming. If you see me in tears right now, please think of it as gratitude tears as I recall past moments I spent with you as father and daughter. I wish you forever happiness. And, Sahashi-san, dou ka, musume wo yoroshiku onegaishimasu (no matter what happen, please take care of my daughter).
And what's more... Matsu is not even going to held a wedding CEREMONY? That is really weird considering she's a princess of Rien(the kabuki society).
I feel disappointed. Because I've always imagined, WHOEVER Matsu will marry, it will be a big news, and there will be glamour wedding ceremony and reception. Coz well... it's Matsumoto family xD But now... feels like, I miss something here...
Perhaps, the fact that Koshiro-san and family still can't really accept Sahashi as their in-law... or, perhaps... uh-oh... Matsu.... de-ki-chat....? Heh... xD
Then, I feel so disappointed that I'm here in Japan when Matsu got married, but I haven't seen a single article on papers/mags, or much news clips on TV about her marriage!!>_< (NOT the online articles)
I guess that's because all the magazines and papers companies are still off? New Year's break?? I haven't seen any new edition of mags and papers since a week ago here.
Then, the most reliable news program on FujiTV, Mezamashi, that has its own entertainment news segment (always cover news on celebs marriage, drama press con, etc), got a new year break for a week, coincidentally since last Saturday. And won't be back on TV until next Friday.
I wonder if Matsu SMARTLY calculated all this? Most people in Japan will get off-days from Dec 29th to Jan 3rd for New Year's Eve. And Matsu registered her marriage right on Dec 28th^^
Then, I have a feeling Matsu has already departed to China since yesterday, Jan 1st, for K-20 filming, her movie with Kaneshiro Takeshi. Coz she updated the "From Matsu" section in her official website on Dec 31st afternoon... and it was dated 1/1/2008. Why would she date it 1/1/2008, if its still Dec 31st? My guess is she won't have time to update it and say "Happy New Year" to the fans on Jan 1st, so she updated it earlier. And my guess that's because she has to depart to China on Jan 1st, for K-20 filming.
So by the time, the press are ready back to work on Jan 4th, and wants to interview Matsu directly... they can't, coz Matsu is already in China, working. Smart^^ She doesn't want to be disturbed, so she picked the right day. It's weird to know she already informed the agency that she wanted to get married since end of September, and they all kept it a secret, until 3 months later. So maybe it's for this... Matsu doesn't want to be disturbed by the press, ne~
Oh well... anyway, tonight I just saw Matsu came as a guest in PuSma New year SP, and she's just as cheerful and funny as always. Although it's a pre-recorded show, but I'm very happy to see that^^
In any case, Matsu-chan... GO-KEKKON OMEDETOU GOZAIMAAASU!!!^0^ _________________

In WUS 18 January, last Friday, Kimura talked about the day when Matsu Takako got married.
I translated that bit, the part where Kimura talked about it...
In the end of the year 2007, a shocking news, Matsu Takako-san got married! You know, on that day... or was it the next day? I was in the middle of CM filming, and when I went back to the changing room, suddenly my cellphone was ringing. It was not a mail, there was really a phone call. And its from Omatsu...
Kimura: Hai, moshimoshi.
Matsu: (in a high tension voice) Ah, moshimoshi! Is it alright to talk now??
Kimura: Yeah, it's okay. What's wrong?
Matsu: I have an announcement to make!!!
Kimura said, "once she said an announcement... I was immediately guessing..."
Kimura: Ee... so you broke up with him already?
Matsu: Chigaimasu yooo~!!(no way!!)
She said that in an angry voice. Then...
Matsu: Today, I've successfully registered my marriage!
Kimura: Hoo... did you hand over the application form yourself to the ward office?
Matsu: Hee...? No, I didn't... why... did Kimura-san hand over the form yourself when you registered?
Kimura: Yeah, I hand it over to the ward office myself.
Matsu: Hee... hontou desu ka(really)??
Kimura: If you didn't hand it over yourself, you're gonna have to re-do it all over again, y'know.
Matsu: Heeeeee~~~????????
Kimura: Well, in any case, omedetou ne...
Matsu: Arigatou gozaimasu!
When I got home, it was on the right timing that when I switch on the TV, there was news about her marriage.
That was such a good announcement she gave to me, I felt bad that I immediately guessed, "You broke up already?". Gomen ne, sumimasen, Matsu Takako-san! I think I've said too much. Really, congratulations on your marriage. I have the Gegege no Kitaro goods prepared already, I'll hand it over to you personally later.
Ah, about this Gegege no Kitaro goods ne... Omatsu told me she bought the whole DVD set of Gegege no Kitaro. Then somehow I got alot of the goods, so it reminds me of her. It was midnight when I called her and asked her, "Hey, I got lots of Gegege goods here, do you want them?". Omatsu answered, "That is an offer very difficult to reject... if you don't want them, then I'd be more than happy to receive them!". Then I said, "Okay then I'll bring them home with me,". And now, those goods are still at my home.
So, I'd like to give Gegege no Kitaro goods for her wedding present! *laughs*
-Matsu's favorite anime is Gegege no Kitaro. And she talked about this anime excitedly to Kimura in Bokura no Ongaku show.
-It seems like Kimura was not surprised at all when Matsu announced her marriage.
-Kimura immediately guessed that Matsu broke up with Sahashi, instead, at first. Haha!
-Since Matsu said, "today", and Kimura watched the news on TV right after he got the announcement straight from Matsu... there's a high possibility that Kimura was the first person that Matsu announced this marriage to, directly by phone.
Oh, there was another news recently about Matsu buying her husband a 300 million yen-condo. Isn't it suppose to be the other way around? xD Oh yeah... Matsu's income is higher than her husband... right^^
And also another headline was "Although they've registered marriage, they are still living separately at the moment". _________________

Takako Matsu stars in next Tetsuya Nakashima film
Wed, November 4, 2009 (5:29am EST)
Actress Takako Matsu (32) is starring in "Kokuhaku," a new film by director Tetsuya Nakashima ("Kamikaze Girls"). The film is an adaptation of Kanae Minato's mystery novel of the same name, which became one of the best selling books this year.
The story takes place at a junior high school. During a homeroom session after the end-of-year closing ceremony, the teacher Moriguchi (played by Matsu) informs her students that she has decided to quit, but adds in a surprising confession - her four-year-old daughter who drowned in the school's pool was actually killed by two of the male students in the room. She begins to take revenge by declaring that she has infected them with the HIV virus, and the truth behind the incident starts to unravel.
The class of 37 students were chosen from an audition of more than 1,000 applicants. Masaki Okada (20) plays Moriguchi's enthusiastic replacement, while Yoshino Kimura (33) plays the mother of one of the targeted boys that has become a hikikomori.
Filming started on October 24. Theatrical release is scheduled for summer 2010.
