hey i was just wondering about this question.. i guess most of us here at least know a bit of japanese after watching japanese dramas so i'd like to ask what were the first japanese words you heard of??
well.. for me it would be [aho!] as in scolding people.. i heard it in shota no sushi and was amused by it..
also i heard [sou kanaa], [nani ga atta no?], [watashi no sei da.. ], [nan datte?] etc. all on dramas i've watched and not from books.. you can say these are probably common ways on speaking and not really in writing form.. but i guess i like to learn these kind of phrases.. what bout you ppl..??

The first japanese word i heard was ohayo it sound like the state Ohio. Oh yeah i forgot sayoonara was one of the first too i heard it in a song when i was very young. Don't know what it meant until i was about 12 or 13.

I cant really remember what my first japanese words were
When I was 7 years old I went to scholl with two japanese kids, but I was to young to learn another language then
When I was 9 i started Ju-Jitsu and learnes some there. Other then the names of throws, and how to count (even though some of the words wrere the wrong type ) the first word I learned was proberly Hajime (begin)
The first word I learned from Anime was Baka - I was watching Love Hina so it didnt take long :p
