Arimura Kasumi to star in a new movie �gLittle Maestra�h

Actress Arimura Kasumi (18) will be starring in a new movie titled �eLittle Maestra�f. This is Arimura�fs third time appearing in a movie, and her second time taking lead role after her previous movie, �eGal Basara ~Sengoku Jidai wa Kengai Desu~�e.

�eLittle Maestra�f follows the story of a high school girl who is a genius conductor, who tries to rally an orchestra at a fishing village that is suffering from underpopulation.

The filming for the movie started on January 27th in Shika, Ishikawa prefecture. Currently, Arimura is exerting herself for the filming in prolonged snowstorm. She commented, �gIt�fs more like painful than cold, so I�fm having hard time speaking my lines. My skin also got all crusty because of the dryness.�h

For the movie, Arimura received a two-month lesson for the role of the conductor. It seems like this role requires a lot of hard work, as the actress said, �gIt�fs so difficult, since I have to use the nerves up to my fingertips.�h

Arimura�fs co-stars will be Shaku Yumiko (33) and EXILE�fs MATSU (36), and the movie is scheduled to be released in this fall.

Kasumi Arimura to be the lead in new NHK morning drama

Arimura Kasumi will be the lead in the upcoming NHK morning drama "Hiyokko" (Young Bird) which will begin its run from 3 April 2017 at 9pm from Mondays to Saturdays. This will be her second appearance in a NHK morning drama since "Ama-chan" in 2013. During the announcement press conference on 29 June, Arimura commented that she hopes to bring in a fresh feeling to the morning drama timeslot and that she is feeling differently now as compared to "Ama-chan" where she played a supporting role. When first told of the offer in the middle of March, Arimura was very surprised and speechless but she is eagerly anticipating the start of the filming. It was also revealed that Arimura didn't have to go through an audition and was picked directly to play the heroine in this drama. She was the second to be handpicked after Yoshitaka Yuriko who played the heroine in 2014's "Hanako to Anne". Filming is due to begin this autumn.

"Hiyokko" is written by Okada Yoshikazu which is set in 1964 i.e. the year when the Tokyo Olympics was held. Arimura plays the role of a young woman named Yatabe Mineko from Ibaraki Prefecture whose father disappears after she graduates from high school. In a bid to find him, Mineko joins the mass wave of youngsters leaving their hometowns to work in Tokyo. While working at a factory, Mineko overcomes various difficulties and grows as an adult. The drama will feature Mineko's life from the age of 18 to 30 so there will be no child actor playing her role thus Arimura will appear from the first episode.

Kasumi Arimura to star in Fuji TV 2020 Fall drama

Kasumi Arimura will star in the Fuji TV 2020 Fall drama "Neechan no Koibito".

Arimura plays Momoko Adachi. Her parents died while she was in high school and she had to give up going to college to support her three younger siblings. Now, nine years later she is working in a hardware store, her siblings are now 20, 17, and 14. One day she meets a man at work and her life changes.

Kasumi Arimura to star in WOWOW drama and sequel movie

Kasumi Arimura will star in the WOWOW Fall 2021 drama "Zenkamono".

Arimura plays Kayo Agawa. She has a part time job at a convenience store and also works as a volunteer probation officer. She works with ex-convicts and juvenile delinquints. There will also be a feature film as a sequel to the drama which takes place several years after the drama and will be released in 2022.

The drama airs in Fall, 2021.
