Seiji Take is a young man who quits his job after working for only 3 months. He has no dreams, no will and zero money. He also fights with his father over his ways and then becomes a "hikkimori" . When his mother falls ill due to depression, Seiji is then forced to take a part time job at a construction company. He believes his job is just temporary and acts distant with his co-workers. Because of that, he soon decides to work towards rebuilding his life: "Even though I'm just a freeter, I'm going to buy a house for the sake of my family." One of the people he meets at the construction site is Chiba Manami, who graduated from a top-class university and joined a well-known general contracting firm. Manami is the complete opposite of Seiji. But while their personalities clash at first, they gradually come to understand each other.

The second episode was pretty hard to watch at times, I stopped a couple of times. It's not as serious or focused as the first episode. Seems like things will start to get better in the next episode. Seiji is over the hardest part already.

Agreed. One thing I did not like about this drama...
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
Of course a psychotic neighbor housewife is going to be a major source of the problem. I read that these things do occur in Japan too frequently, unfortunately. But I feel like the introduction of this neighbor lady is a way to shift the blame off of Seiji's father. There's always gotta be an external agent causing the problems. Why can't we realize that sometimes, the internal sphere is just as damaging? And of course that external agent is going to be a woman...The bullying of Seiji's sister is laying it on too heavily for me too.
Nevertheless, the next episode looks good. Seiji's going to discover the insidious presence bothering his mom soon I hope. I'm glad it looks like they won't drag that out too long.
Everything said, I really like this drama so far. I really want to see Seiji grow as a character.
