And who decided to cast Fukada as Yodo ?!!? Beat You This is supposed to be one evil bitch. They should have just brought Hiromi Nagasaku. She was great as Yodo in Kyoumei ga Tsuji.

    According to Wiki:

Saka no Ue no Kumo was originally set for a 2006 broadcast. However, the scriptwriter of the series committed suicide, causing a delay in production. The series will air in three parts, each part airing during the last month of the year.

    Saka no Ue no Kumo pt1 5 eps 29 November 2009 27 December 2009
Saka no Ue no Kumo pt2 4 eps Autumn 2010 Autumn 2010
Saka no Ue no Kumo pt3 4 eps Autumn 2011 Autumn 2011

Shun Oguri as Ishida Mitsunari
Keep in mind that Ishida is supposed to be a prick, and one who sucked up to Hideyoshi big-time! People hated this guy so much that when they caught this traitor, they buried him up to his neck, and then slowly sawed his head off. Now, can Shun portray this type of person? Or, will NHK make Ishida up to be a sweet, nice guy?
Looks like they've turned him into Mr. Nice Guy. Shake Head Although I do like Shun's "Brillo Pad" haircut hehe

Maybe he'll be portrayed as misunderstood.

Okey-dokey, episode 39 "Mitsunari's Will" called for a complete suspension of reality. Title should have been "Mitsunari the saint" Shake Head

I wonder if the writer isn't related to Mitsunari's family.

Seems that Ieyasu is depicted as less saintly than usual.

Guess we all have a couple of sides. How would your life be told as a taiga dorama? rofl

Hopefully with a lot of women, alcohol, and the bodies of my enemies piled high. But mostly the first two, because the third might not make it past censors. hehe

Taking artistic license in these stories isn't so bad as long as it's believable. An unliked figure could be represented as cruel but misunderstood, but not as a saint because you have a popular idol playing him. For example, Tenchijin, from the Uesugi POV, portrays the Takeda as aggressors naturally; Fuurin Kazan, from the Takeda POV, portrays them in a better light, but also as aggressors.

Last ep, we saw proud samurai harvesting nasu (eggplant) followed by a treat of kaki (persimmons). Nasu is a summer vegetable, while kaki comes in early winter. Was there was a big leap of time that I missed? And those were tiny little kaki, the ones I have harvested were twice that size.
