Shun Oguri as Ishida Mitsunari
Keep in mind that Ishida is supposed to be a prick, and one who sucked up to Hideyoshi big-time! People hated this guy so much that when they caught this traitor, they buried him up to his neck, and then slowly sawed his head off. Now, can Shun portray this type of person? Or, will NHK make Ishida up to be a sweet, nice guy?

Looks like they've turned him into Mr. Nice Guy. Although I do like Shun's "Brillo Pad" haircut

Guess we all have a couple of sides. How would your life be told as a taiga dorama? |
Hopefully with a lot of women, alcohol, and the bodies of my enemies piled high. But mostly the first two, because the third might not make it past censors.
Taking artistic license in these stories isn't so bad as long as it's believable. An unliked figure could be represented as cruel but misunderstood, but not as a saint because you have a popular idol playing him. For example, Tenchijin, from the Uesugi POV, portrays the Takeda as aggressors naturally; Fuurin Kazan, from the Takeda POV, portrays them in a better light, but also as aggressors.

Last ep, we saw proud samurai harvesting nasu (eggplant) followed by a treat of kaki (persimmons). Nasu is a summer vegetable, while kaki comes in early winter. Was there was a big leap of time that I missed? And those were tiny little kaki, the ones I have harvested were twice that size. _________________ - Douglas
