Yes. Tattoos sore? Nah. Just feels like "board rash".
Addicting? Yes.....Very.
Just make sure you don't get one on impulse or else you'll end up spending triple what you paid for it in order to take it off.

I have a complete all-over-the-body tattoo. It's flesh colored, and looks a lot like ... me.
j/k. no tattoos yet. Maybe someday.
Didn't someone post that if you have a tat, it's hard to get into a public bath in Japan? I forget where I read that now.

Yes, it's hard. Some baths I went to had signs that said "No Tattoos Allowed". But luckily, I was able to go to one in Toyama.
As for that thread, it's buried somewhere in the Learn Japanese section. _________________

Yes, you should think it over before you get one. Like I said, if you do it on impulse, chances are that you'll regret it in the long run. And to take 'em off costs triple the amount than what you paid for it. So I wouldn't recommend getting a tattoo on impulse, unless you have a lot of time and money to blow. And not to mention if you don't mind burning off your skin.
Yes, when you get older, the tattoo will eventually sag as your skin will. That's the price to pay, but personally, I don't mind that part. Not like I'll take off my shirt in front of young girls when I'm 80. _________________

I'm sure you can get 'em from those machines for like $0.50 or so. _________________

As long as you're happy with what you got and you know you won't regret it, I see no problem in it.
Probably end of this year, I'll be getting a big tribal one on my back or so. Then guarantee I won't be able to go Onsen at all. Which is why I'm waiting till the end of the year to do it. _________________

Nah, I'd be too ashamed to do such a thing.
I'm too conservative for that kind of stuff! _________________
