Crap, really? When was that? I only watched the unsubbed episodes by kind of skimming through before so I don't know if it was in there. But in the episode with the hot springs, she did a lot of the work.

She's very deluded.
But in a good way.
In all of the "Great Detective" stories, the "Girl Friday" is always in love with the Detective. She almost never gets him. But she's always devotedly in love with him.
Asou Kumiko just lets Mikazuki go that extra step toward lunacy.
In all of these stories, the cop, or the lead detective (not the "Great Detective") is always plodding and dumb. Helps to make the "G.D." look even greater.
Toyohara Kosuke's Juumonji goes that extra mile as well. Mikazuki isn't nearly as delusional as Juumonji. He thinks he's Sam Spade.
Then there are all those "lab guys" who are always doing extra work for the G.D. But here, Morosawa wants to be reimbursed to the last yen for everything he does.
And though the office staff rarely does anyting of use in this sort of story... our group goes as far as taking up cutting out paper dolls for something to do at work. (You know... the sort of crafts they do at looney bins.)
That's probably why I like this show so much. They took every convention of the genre and with a smile and a wink, poked fun at it. _________________

That Special came out before season 2 started to air.
For the most part it's just a collection of scenes from the first season to introduce people to the characters before the start of the second season. _________________
Now this is my kind of silly. Finished with season 1, and am just starting with season 2.
The premise for all the episodes are really so-so, but it's really fun seeing all the characters deal with each other. I remember the episode with Mikazuki going into the love hotel with their chief... and that excellent episode with Juumonji singing and being in love. So awesome.
I kinda feel like there's this thin layer of plot/dialogue that would be even funnier if I really knew Japanese. Subtitles don't do it justice.
