Wrong guess. Next week's episode will be the finale.

I think our wires crossed a bit - I watch the Chinese-subbed version which is available a few days later than the Japanese aired version. When I said 'next week' I was thinking the coming episode which, as you pointed out, has just been aired but the Chinese subs are not yet available.
I probably made it worse explaining the discrepancy. Let's agree on 'It's just ended.'...

My Review: 8/10
When I first started watching Hotaru no Hikari, I thought it was a bit dull. Nothing really sparked my interest and I felt, over all, indifferent to nearly everything that was happening with the plot. To be fair, this isnft necessarily a bad thing. But nor is it a good thing. How does one categorize gmediocreh?
By the seventh episode I finally started to enjoy the drama. Ifm not sure what it was. Possibly the very subtle shift in emotions the characters began to feel/expose? By the ninth episode I believe the gmediocreh for me shifted to ggoodh. It helped that I was satisfied with the ending.
Ayase was amusing to watch. I have a lot of respect for her as a result of watching some of her more powerful roles in other dramas. She wasnft outstanding in this particular role, but I did think she was hilarious at times and her comedic timing was grand. However, I found the transition of her work self and her home self too drastic, but this can easily be the fault of the writer/director, and not necessarily her as the actress.
Ryoko-chan was lovely as ever, but her character was severely downplayed. She almost faded half way into the drama and didnft make a stand again until the last few episodes. For as much as she was on screen, though, I thought she was grand! She has a charismatic presence that I donft think Ifll ever tire of.
The dude who played Makoto (notice the lack of effort on my part to find out his real name) was so blah! His acting was poor and he was really painful to watch. I also didnft dig his selfish, useless, pathetic character.
But goodness, Fujiki-san! I had a major crush on him when I first saw him in Ichi Ritoru no Namida, and maintained this crush for quite a while. It evaporated a bit after watching him in Antique, and completely disappeared after seeing him in Galcir. I think this role replenished it a bit. His character was grand and he really pulled it off. I was completely convinced by everything he said and did. I always enjoy a good man in a suit.
Although the drama started off slow, it did redeem itself at the end. Was it a great drama? Nah. But it was good. _________________

After reading Wynter 's review.... I decided to share my thoughts for this show....
I agreed that this show is so underrated!!!!
I myself did not heard of this show, but was recommended by my cousin to watch it. I think single ladies in their early 20s will be able to 'connect' to this show well. It speaks the mind of some 20s year old ladies... And I think there are many comedic moments in the show. I was laughing so hard at some scenes that my mom came knocking on my door to find out what happened. LoL.
Personally I didn't really like Ayase prior to this show (blame it on all the heavy depressing dramas she was in), but I think she totally did a great job here, protraying the character of a 'himono onna' well. I would really like to see her more in comedies.
But of course, the star is Fujiki-san! LoL.... Initially I thought his character was such an extra, until when he starts giving advices to Amemiya, showing care and concern in subtle ways.... I began to fall in love with Buchou! Oh well... plus he's such an eye candy too! _________________ **********************

.. I loved hotaru when sahe always say BUCHOO!! its one of the nice Jdorama I've ever seen, Hope there's an SP... |
oh i only know now that is was based from a manga.. though the manga is very simple it is very relaxing and i could relate to it too much, yeah i am also a self confessed himono-onna.
Nao-sama is a bomb! theres a big age gap with him and Haruka but still they made a good pair. Makoto-kun is also good looking, theres a part that im confused who whom Hotaru will end up to! haha!!
this is super worth watching, i fell in love with Nao-sama _________________
