hello everyone ! I'm sorry, I was away from the board for a while, I was very sick ( well, I'm still sick but doing a bit better now ).

Well, my question is :

Is there any Japanese singer who sings only and solely in English ?
or at least : mostly in English ?

thanx !

And in french too ! Big Grin ( L'arc-en-ciel say some words in french Mr Green )

Japanesne are very conservative, they like their language, only Japanese... and some words or songs in english...
That's good for them, we need it in France too cause we hear shit like willy densez, leslie, tragedie, magic systeme, lorie, priscilla...
And the other are only english, linkin park, muse, manson, eminem, 2 pac, destiny child, britney, christina...

And the good french, dead, or johnny , aznavour, sardou, mitchel, goldman, souchon...

Welcome back. I hope you are feeling better.

Matsuda Seiko released a U.S. CD titled "Area 62". All the songs on it is sung in English. It has some really good dance tunes, but sales were really bad. It's just funny that a lady over 40 years old is still trying to put on an image of a 20-something year old.

Hmm..Even V6 sings a song in English, yeah I recall a song called "One" a duet with Shoo from S.E.S and then..Da Pump did a cover version of "Circle of Life" Elton John and..they did not sound Engrishy at all.

Ken Hirai release an album in which he sang mostly in English (with his perfect prononuciation) called "Ken's Bar"

Mika Nakashima sang "Amazing Grace" in her first Album. Oh yeah, try Toshinobu Kubota, he also released and English Album..I forgot the name. hmm..who else? Noriyuki Makihara, Miwa Yoshida. Oh yeah Southern All Stars..they also sing in English too.

Try Bonnie Pink.

She's a jazz-ish type artists, and apprently she grew up in England or somewhere, so I'd say about 50% of her songs are in English. "Bonnie's Kitchen #2" is a completely English album, but other English songs of hers worth your notice are "I Just Want you to Be Happy", "Daisy", "not ready", "Hang-glider", "Mint", and "Evil and Flowers". Also, in her Japanese songs, she interjects so many english words it's not even funny. Bleah

The Japanese singer that I always tout for people asking for English version of songs would be Melody. She's fluent in English and you can tell that her Japanese has an English accent to it as well. She's one great singer nonetheless.

I also believe that Dragon Ash sings in English sometimes and Bennie K has pretty good English as well. I think Liv was mentioned already.

If a Japanese singer sang only in English wouldn't that contradict the point of being a Japanese singer? Head Scratch

That person would just be a singer who happens to be Japanese... Smile
