GOOD JOB start March 26 on NHK.
I hope Eri has the lead role. I hope to see this series on KTSF, but knowing them they'll dissapoint me again. Eri and Mizuno Maki, two beautiful women.

LATEST NEWS:
Eri chan will be in the film TSUBAKI SANJURO with Oda Yuji. TSUBAKI SANJURO is a remake of Kurasawa Akira SANJURO.
Very nice pictures. It's cool she went back to Yufuin for their festival since that locale, not to mention the festival itself, was featured so prominently in Kaze no Haruka.
Do you know who will be directing the remake of Sanjuro? That project has got to be a daunting task. The difficulty for a remake to even approach the level of excellence of the original is enormous.
It's only because I enjoyed her performance so much in Kaze no Haruka that I tried to watch My Boss My Hero, the kind of dorama I usually try to stay far away from. After three episodes, I had to stop. Eri-chan is basically wasted in this puerile, witless, mindless series.

Just checked the Toho website. Looks like Sanjuro is one their major releases this year. Eri is billed right after Anne Suzuki. Not bad for a former asadora heroine. The others just seem to fade away. I guess riding on Boystyle fame helped.
In Kaze no Haruka she went from playing a country bumpkin to city slicker pretty smoothly. Shows the girl has talent.
Shin2-san ... Morita Yoshimitsu is director in TSUBAKI SANJURO.
Sachiko-chan, thanks for the info. Morita is a prominent experienced director. However, I don't think he's made any "action" pictures or jidai-geki films.

Toho also made the original Sanjuro some 45 years ago. I read where it cost the studio $500,000 to make it back in 1962. Wonder what the studio is spending this time around.
Shari, I've only seen five Asadorama, but you're right--I don't recall seeing the young heroines from those series (except for Eri-chan) in anything else. I do know that Yuko Takeuchi and Ryoko Kuninaka were Asadora leads--they've gone on to have pretty good careers--but it would be interesting to find out what other Asadora heroines have become established actresses. (Chieko Baisho, who played an Asadora heroine in her twilight years, has had a long great career, but she of course doesn't fit the typical profile of the Asadora lead actress--someone young, relatively unknown, with limited acting experience)
