That's true too.
This group is popular, so anything they do, I'm sure is seen as 'scandalous.'
But as a director, you would think this guy should have more sense than to spend the night at their apartments.

Looks like she has:
Mariko Shinoda joins cast of "Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta"
Thu, December 2, 2010
AKB48 member Mariko Shinoda will have a recurring role in Fuji TV's new Monday night drama series, "Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta." This will be her first time acting in a series on that network.
The show, which was revealed last month, stars Erika Toda and Haruma Miura as Natsumi and Shuji, two teachers at the same school who are engaged to each other. However, their seemingly happy relationship becomes threatened when Shuji unwittingly becomes involved with one of his students named Hikari, played by Emi Takei.
Shinoda will play Sayaka, a popular wedding planner who was classmates with Natsumi and Shuji during their university days. Although she once dated Shuji in the past, she now shares an apartment with Natsumi and supports the couple's marriage plans, at least until she realizes that her feelings for Shuji have not entirely disappeared.
"Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta" will premiere in January.

it sounds promising for her acting career in Japan....She should honestly move on from being a Japanese idol, of AKB48, her time has passed long ago, its time to move on, she did good for the group, as now she has grown out of that role and into another role, in acting. Good for her!

Mariko Shinoda to host NHK show
March 2, 2011
AKB48 member Shinoda Mariko (24) is getting her own television show on NHK, starting this spring. The show is called gMariko-sama no Orikou-sama!h (Wednesday nights, 1:05am-1:10am) and will be a collaboration with the documentary show gNHK Specialh (Sundays, 9:00pm).
The show will involve Shinoda providing concise explanations for keywords related to the themes of the gNHK Specialh episodes, covering common knowledge from economic growth to genetics to the statute of limitations. Using illustrations and videos, she will present the keywords in a simple and entertaining manner, spending only about 30 seconds on each explanation. Viewers will be able to submit explanations for Shinodafs approval through the showfs website.
During the press conference for the show held on Wednesday, Shinoda admitted that she has never watched gNHK Specialh before, but she expressed her pleasure at now having an opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics that she currently has little knowledge of.
A special program to commemorate the show will air from 1:45am to 1:55am on the night of March 11, and submissions for explanations will be accepted starting on March 12. The show will begin its regular broadcasts on April 6.
Re-runs will air on NHK Educational (Sundays at 11:55pm) and on NHKfs 1-seg 2 channel.

Hell, the Heavy Rotation video is even more voyeuristic! The whole video is peep show...I thought a guy directed it, but I was wrong!
I recently saw the BINGO! video, and Itano and Watanabe look really young in that video...they both have definitely matured their looks.
Takahashi is only 4'10". She's tiny.
If you like Itano, have you seen the Dear J video? _________________ I live to level up.

I started watching the 19th Single Senbatsu Jan-Ken Tournament. I'm thinking that Yasushi Akimoto is a genius. They're in this huge theatre where there are hundreds of fans (paying I assume), then they have this DVD set you can buy. Also, how much publicity was generated before the event for AKB48.
Some of the junior/less popular members seemed a little scared going up against the usual senbatsu members. I'm also starting to see why Yukirin is the reaction queen. The reaction of the girls making senbatsu when they had never done so before was priceless. And it's damn good to get a bye in this tournament.
The regular senbatsu members have to be really good sports as well as when they lose they're given the mic!!
Edit: Just saw Minegishi's 600 sec episode. Very funny! I love how she keeps looking for food, and singing Goyza! Goyza! Hurry up! while waiting. I can't believe she ate all that!
Also watched Watanabe's ep as well. I loved that she went to Animate to look for Durarara goods and kept talking about it with her friend at the end. That graphic at the end showing that 90% of what she thinks about(?) is anime was awesome. As were those loli outfits they put on. _________________ I live to level up.

That was nice! Do you know who was playing the piano? I assume she was an AKB member. I know that many of them are very talented in the arts.
Wondering if Ponytail is your favorite AKB song? So far mine would have to be Iiwake Maybe. Love the lyrics to that one.
Been watching some AKBingo! episodes. Most of them are very entertaining, even you can't understand Japanese. I think having that show was another brillant idea. You get to see the girls being silly and having fun. I'm liking them more as people after those shows (and others like 600secs).
After watching some of their PVs, TV performances, and concerts, I was thinking that you don't have to like their music. That's certainly a personal choice. But I do think they (the girls themselves) work very hard. They do the same choreography in their lives as in the PVs, and while I'm certainly no dancer, I can't believe it's very easy, especially if its a concert. Like River, that's got to be difficult to do live. I enjoy watching the River choreography movie. So I do repect them as entertainers as they, especially the more popular senbatsu members, seem ridiculously busy. Yes, that may be their management, but the girls are still the ones doing it.
Random thoughts: I love Mayuyu's perfect bangs! She really is a cyborg. The original Beginner video rocks! Acchan screaming is wicked. And if you haven't seen Tomo~mi doing her Doctor Cosplay...you need to see it. Not sure if it's on YouTube. Still a must see.... _________________

Sigh, they set a new record this week for sales, what's up with that?
Oricon has released official sales numbers for AKB48's latest single Everyday, Kachusha, confirming that it has set a new record for highest first-week single sales. With roughly 1,334,000 copies sold, it eclipses Mr.Children's Namonaki Uta, which set the previous record of 1,208,000 in February 1996.
Before Everyday, Kachusha, the top five singles in first-week sales were all released during the 1990s, during the height of CD sales. Despite the continuing downturn in CD sales, AKB48 has managed to buck the trend and it seems as though their popularity still has room to grow. Although the inclusion of voting cards for AKB48's ongoing Senbatsu election was a factor in the single sales, the group was already trending upward in sales for their recent singles.
Everyday, Kachusha is the group's third million-selling single, after Sakura no Ki ni Narou (1.15 million) and Beginner (1.07 million). They now also hold a streak of 8 consecutive number-ones, a feat that has not been achieved by a female group since Pink Lady in 1978.
