Juri Ueno to star in Fuji TV 2019 Summer drama

Juri Ueno will star in the Fuji TV 2019 Summer drama "Kansatsui Asagao" (Medical Examiner Asagao)

Asagao (Juri Ueno) is a rookie forensic scientist, who works at a university forensic medicine class in Kanagawa Prefecture. She is also a licensed doctor. Asagao lives with her father Taira (Saburo Tokito), who is a veteran detective. Asagao's mother died in the 2011 Tohoku earthquake disaster and her body was never found.

One day, Asagao’s forensic medicine class unexpectedly works with the investigation section of the police department. When a dead body is found, the dead body is transferred to Asagao’s forensic medicine class. Asagao now works with her detective father.

The series begins on July 8th, 2019

Juri Ueno, Saburo Tokito, Shunsuke Kazama, and Yuzuna Kato are all cast in Fuji TV drama series “Asagao: Forensic Doctor 2.” All four will reprise their characters from 2019 Fuji TV drama series “Asagao: Forensic Doctor.”

This time Asagao (Juri Ueno) continues her work as a forensic scientist at a university forensic medicine class in Kanagawa Prefecture. Her father Taira (Saburo Tokito) and her husband Shinya (Shunsuke Kazama) are busy with their work as detectives. Her daughter Tsugumi (Yuzuna Kato) insists on having a younger sibling. Asagao spends most days with her family, but, decides to go to the Tohoku Region alone to find her mother’s dead body.

The drama airs Summer, 2020.

She's also been in Theseus no Fune, but as a supporting character.

Haven't watched her Asagao drama, but it must have done something right if it's getting a second season.

Juri Ueno will star along with Takumi Saito in the Netflix drama "Hiyama Kentaro no Ninshin".

Storyline: The drama is set in a world where men are the ones that get pregnant and give birth.

Kentaro Hiyama ( Saito) works at an advertising agency. His romantic partner is Aki Seto (Ueno). Seto works as a freelance writer and an editor. She puts her career first and ignores her parents who want her to get married. One day, Hiyama learns that he is pregnant. Hiyama and Seto are surprised by the pregnancy. Neither expected to become parents. Hiyama now faces a lot of problems due to his pregnancy. The couple must decided whether to have their baby or not.

The drama will come out sometime in 2022.
