Yamashita Tomohisa�fs new TV show documents his solo trip along America�fs Route 66

Former NEWS member Yamashita Tomohisa will have a new show on NTV, starting next month. The show documents his solo trip across the United States as he traveled down the famous Route 66 from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California.

Filming for the show took place between November 3 and November 18. Yamashita chose to drive a Chevy C20, made in 1985 (the year of his birth), which he nicknamed �gAkkun.�h He began his journey in Chicago, and he drove a total of 3,755 kilometers before reaching his destination of Santa Monica.

Along the way, his experiences included interacting with Native Americans, and meeting with Angel Delgadillo, known as the �gguardian angel�h of Route 66 for his work in preserving the historic road.

Yamashita reportedly completed the trip doing everything on his own, from driving to doing his laundry to managing his meals.

NTV plans to broadcast the series over a 3-month period, beginning on January 2. The show has been placed in the late-night 1:29am-1:59am time slot, with the first episode starting later at 1:59am.

Tomohisa Yamashita to release new mini-album in August

Yamashita Tomohisa's new mini-album "Asobi" will be released on August 20.

The album will be created with the concept "Dance Tracks Mini Album". It will include a total of 7 songs including "HELLO" written by Hata Motohiro and composed by BACHLOGIC, "Moon Disco" an instrumental number by Shibuya Keiichiro with lyrics by Yamashita, "Back to the dance floor" produced by Nakata Yasutaka (CAPSULE), and "Dress Code:" provided by Osawa Shinichi.

Yamashita commented, "I've been wanting to release an album with a collection of dance music of various genres, so I'm very happy. Through this album, I hope that people who normally don't listen to this type of music will become familiar with dance music."

The album will be released in two types: Regular Edition (CD-Only) and a Yamashita Tomohisa Shop Limited Edition (includes original t-shirt).

Tomohisa Yamashita to release new album "YOU"

Yamashita Tomohisa will release a new album titled "YOU" on October 8.

"YOU" comes about a year after releasing his last album "A NUDE".

Similar to his previous album, a handful of well-known artists were involved in the production of "YOU". They include Naoto Inti Raymi, Tavito Nanao, Jun.K (From 2PM), Hitoto Yo, Kawatani Enon (indigo la End, Gesu no Kiwami Otome), ICEDOWN, Andy Platts (Mamas Gun), Ishizaki Huwie, STY, Koide Yusuke (Base Ball Bear), Jeff Miyahara, banvox, Fukuhara Miho, Micro of Def Tech, and Yanai Michihiko.

The album's track list will be comprised of a total of 12 songs.

Tomohisa Yamshita to release 'Best Of' album

Yamashita Tomohisa's first best-of album entitled "YAMA-P" will be released on January 27.

The upcoming album will contain his previous singles "Ai, Texas", "LOVE CHASE", "Ke Sera Sera", and "SUMMER NUDE '13" as well as other songs from his albums.

It will also include his self-cover version of the fan favorite "Dreamer", which has never been released before. The lyrics of "Dreamer" were written by Yamashita himself, and it was arranged by Kameda Seiji. Apparently, the music video was shot in an unexplored region in Arizona in order to express the worldview of the song.

The MV will be included in a not-for-sale special DVD that comes with a photo booklet, and only 3,000 people chosen by those who purchase the album will be able to get it.

There will be a limited edition A and B and a standard edition. Limited edition A will come with a DVD containing 8 music videos, while limited edition B will have "Dreamer" remix version by banvox.

Tomohisa Yamashita will star in the TBS drama "In Hand" which airs in April.

Yamashita plays parasitologist, a scientist specializing in parasites, Tetsu Himokura. He has a robotic arm and uses his methods to solve crimes.
