Yukie Nakama and Tetsuji Tanaka get married
Nakama Yukie and Tanaka Tetsuji got married on 18 September as announced through a fax statement from their agencies. The couple first got to know each other through working on the 2003 FujiTV drama "Kao" and reunited on the set of 2007 TBS drama "Joshideka!" when they reportedly started dating the following year. They were first romantically linked in a 2009 Nikkansports report but had denied being an item in consideration of their fans and sponsors. Instead, they continued dating in secret for the past 6 years before finally tying the knot. At present, there are no plans for a wedding or press conference.
Nakama also released her statement where she confirmed that she and Tanaka had registered their marriage today. They started off as friends back in 2007 and later began dating and things progressed naturally thus leading to their marriage. She also expressed her wish to continue working and hopes that the synergy between the two of them will lead to even greater success for them in terms of work and their private lives.
As Tanaka was starring in the stage play "Haishin" which had its first performance today, the press were gathered at Tokyo Geijutsu Gekijo after the performance ended so that they could interview him. Tanaka thanked the press for their congratulations and revealed that he had submitted the marriage application alone around 9am today. He also apologised to his stage play co-stars for the inconveniences caused to them as a result of his marriage announcement. When asked about how he proposed to Nakama, Tanaka said that there was no formal proposal but since a year ago, marriage was part of their plans and he gave her a ring around the same time. He didn't really select a special day to give her the ring which he had gone to buy on his own but he remarked that she seemed happy when she received it.
When asked about what he likes about Nakama, Tanaka complimented her by saying she's too good for him. Although it is often said that people in the same occupation find it difficult to be together, he is glad that she is a very supportive person and the fact that she's also an actress makes it easy for her to understand things which those outside the entertainment circle would not know. Last but not least, he cited her simple character as the most appealing point to him.
Despite having dated for six years, Tanaka revealed that they have never had a serious argument before. He also said that he had met his parents-in-law who were very nice to him. Tanaka and Nakama recently started staying together but do not have any plans yet with regard to parenthood.

Honestly, I didn't think her character contributed all that much to "Aibou 13". Kind of surprised that they're bringing her back.

Yukie Nakama to star in January 2017 WOWOW drama
Nakama Yukie will be starring in the new WOWOW drama "Rakuen" (Paradise" based on the same-titled novel by Miyabe Miyuki which will consist of 6 episodes and be shown from January 2017. The novel describes what happens 9 years after the end of the story in the novel "Mohouhan" also by Miyabe. This will be Nakama's first appearance in a WOWOW drama and her first attempt at acting in a Miyabe adaptation. The script will be written by Shinozaki Eriko who was also responsible for another WOWOW drama "Hippocrates no Chikai" and NHK morning drama "Mare". Nakama will play the role of Maehata Shigeko, a freelance writer who had suffered a trauma due to the case in "Mohouhan" and is faced with another murder case this time where she seeks to find out the truth. In preparation for the filming which lasted for two months from June this year, Nakama cut her long hair by 20cm so as to fit the image of Shigeko.
In "Rakuen" which takes place 9 years after the Doizaki couple killed and buried their then-15-year-old daughter under their house, Shigeko gets a weird request from a housewife who wants to find out if her 12-year-old son really has supernatural powers as he claimed. From the picture which the boy drew, Shigeko sees a striking resemblance to the Doizaki case and decides to undertake the investigation. Just then, the boy dies of a traffic accident thus leading Shigeko to wonder if there is more than meets the eye.
Nakama commented that the story is very well-paced and there are a number of mysteries waiting to be resolved which will lead viewers to the truth at the end. As such, she hoped that viewers can watch the entire drama and see what the message behind the title is. As for Miyabe, she said that she had always enjoyed Nakama's movies and dramas so she is very happy to see her being the lead for 'Rakuen" which has some supernatural elements. Miyabe commented that she will be eagerly anticipating the broadcast as she wants to see how the fantasy parts of the story will be presented in the drama.

Yukie Nakama to star in TV Asahi drama special
Nakama Yukie will be starring in the new TV Asahi 2-part drama SP "Soshite dare mo inakunatta" based on Agatha Christie's 1939 work "And then there were none" which will be the first adaptation of this in Japan. The drama SP will be shown over two consecutive nights this spring. The mystery story depicts how 10 people at a hotel on an isolated island were killed one by one and the 10 bodies were discovered later.
Nakama Yukie plays the role of a former swimmer Shiramine Ryo who is a home tutor rumoured to have caused the death of her student in a swimming pool 5 years ago. She commented that she was very excited about the filming. However, it was difficult to show the fear and guilt felt by her character as the others died one after another and she had to grapple with the thought of knowing that she might be next and face up to her sin. As such, it was a brand new challenge for her in this drama SP. In addition, although she had played Sadako in the 2000 movie "Ring 0 Birthday" where she was "beaten to death" and thrown into a well, this will actually be the first time in a drama that Nakama plays a character who will be murdered.
Co-stars include Watase Tsunehiko, Tsugawa Masahiko, Yo Kimiko, Yanagiba Toshiro, Daichi Mao, Mukai Osamu and Kunimura Jun who play the guests at the hotel while Hashizume Isao and Fuji Mariko will play the butler and his wife respectively.
