When a movie also has a drama, which do you watch first? I think I prefer watching the drama first.

I'm sure there are some dramas spun off from movies but I can't think of any right now. The only dramas I can think of that had movies were "GTO", "Hero", and "Unfair".

The only movie version I saw was the "GTO" movie and it was so bad I never watched another movie spun off from a drama again.

Edit: I completely forgot about the "TRICK" series!! Bonk

I watched the first two "TRICK" dramas and the first "TRICK" movie and it seemed to me it was all just a one trick ( Bleah ) pony so I haven't watched any of that series or any of the movies since.

Edit II: I also forgot about "Aibou" Bonk Bonk

You really need to watch some of the dramas before watching any of the movies or a lot of the interplay between the characters will be confusing.

Galileo had a movie, but it's obvious Fukuyama Masaharu couldn't hold a candle to Tsutsumi Shinichi. It was almost embarrassing. And Shibasaki Kou had zero to do in that movie. I didn't watch the drama because of Fukuyama, he's kinda bleh.

Some that I've watched:

taiyou no uta (Midnight Sun)
1 litre no namida (1 Litre Of Tears)
koizora (Sky Of Love)

I watched the movie Koizora first. I hated it. The drama was even worse. It was only 6 episodes, but it felt never ending. It probably wouldn't have felt that way if I had watched the drama first... though I probably still wouldn't have liked it.

The drama 1 Litre Of Tears is better than the movie, but I assume the movie is more realistic.

One Missed Call also has a drama, but I've not watched it yet. I've only seen the movie. I'm still planning on watching sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu (Crying Out Love, In The Center Of The World). I've heard mixed reviews about which is better.

I'm sure I left some movies / dramas out.
