Nice short one (four episodes) from WOWOW. Usual good stuff. They can do more with four episodes than most can with 10 or 11. I think they have a policy that they will only use real actors, no idols allowed.
In this case the real actor was Rie Miyazawa.
A heads up though. The version I watched the sound went crazy about halfway thru episode 2 and I had to watch the rest of the episode with the sound off just reading the subtitles. Wasn't that bad but did get a little confusing if two people were talking at once.
^ I hope it didn't involve anything upsetting about cats! I saw that drama but I'm worried it might show something negative about kitties, which would traumatise me.
I'm two episodes into Nobunaga Concerto, which is quite funny. Oguri Shun is really too old to play a high-schooler and he needs a better hairstyle, but the sengoku stuff is hilarious. Shibasaki Kou seems a bit skinny though! _________________

^ Nothing bad happens to the cats. Well, her first cat dies (all pets die, I've never had one that didn't) she gets depressed but eventually gets another cat which is Gou Gou. I was just glad to see Rie Miyazawa again. She doesn't do very many dramas anymore.

Have you seen the movie version (2008) with Ueno Juri and Koizumi Kyoko?

That is a relief. I shall hunt for this drama when I'm done with Nobunaga Concerto. I remember seeing a little of Miyazawa Rie in Gou, but haven't actively followed her stuff. She is always lovely though!

I didn't know Juri did a movie on this! Shall hunt for it. Was it good? _________________
Was kind of looking forward to this one since it has the world's greatest peacoat model as star.
There's no synopsis listed here. Basically Takenouchi has a taxi that will take people back in time to whenever they want to correct a bad decision they made. They can't go back too far though because he charges about $100 for every half hour he goes back. Not your typical time travel scenario, some times people screw things up worse when they go back and make a change. There was a nice twist at the end of episode one and it had Manami Konishi all dolled up which was more than enough to keep me watching.

Gomen ne Seishun! episode 1-7
Really fun to watch, I am enjoying it a lot. Nishikido Ryo is likeable and earnest, Mitsushima Hikari looks like she's having a lot of fun with her character. The young actors and actresses playing the students are good too. Unlike a lot of school drama, all the exaggerated acting and over the top reactions blend in perfectly with the drama and nothing stood out in irksome or annoying way. Kuroshima Yuina may be a new star in the making, like her a lot in this.

I think he got sort of typecast early on as one of those smarmy stuck up types that nobody likes. But he's really very versatile. The drama that won me over for him was "Mop Girl". junny you might check that one out if you get a chance.
And in this years Taiga "Gunshi Kanbee" for the brief time he was there he was one of the good guys.
Mop Girl, I'm reading about for the first time, now. Anything like Pushing Daisies (American show)? Premise sounds similar.
Six episodes into Nobunaga Concerto and quite enjoying it, though to be honest, I'd like to see a battle sooner or later. This is the Sengoku era, c'mon. And the drama did deviate a fair bit from history, which can be disconcerting for anyone with some knowledge of Sengoku history. A bit more partial now to Oguri Shun since I quite like him in this role, while Mukai Osamu and Fujiki Naohito are doing well in their respective roles. The theme song by Mr Children brings back memories, ahhh.
Also continuing with Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu, where Tamaki Hiroshi continues to be the best thing about the drama despite his minimal screentime. Fukushi Sota continues to be a terrible actor, how does he even get roles? Bah. _________________

Is he the lead? It's criminal that Tamaki is underutilized.

Ayase Haruka is the lead as the story is mainly about her character's growth, but Fukushi Sota plays her love interest, so he's the male lead. Tamaki probably averages maybe 15 minutes per episode, sigh. _________________

Up thru episode 8 of 'N no Tame Ni'. Pretty well written, believable characters.

Unfortunately in episode 7 they brought in the 'terminal illness' cliche. Nana Eikura's character has stomach cancer and less than a year to live.
I'm not saying this is the greatest drama ever made. It's pretty good. What I don't understand is how, according to the ratings, over twice as many people are watching that 'Doctor X' crap as this.
Maybe Japanese people aren't as smart as we think.

Now up to episode 9 of 'N no Tame ni'. Things are starting to come into focus, we know who started the restaurant fire and I've got a pretty good idea of who killed Naoko's husband.
Also up to episode 9 of 'Suteki na Sen Taxi'. I mentioned this in the Yutaka Takenouchi thread, it's been good so far but this was the first laugh out loud funny episode. Primarily because of two of the stupidest criminals I've seen in a long time. It's no wonder they both failed at their robberies.
Finished Kyou wa Kaisha Yasumimasu. Epic logic fail in the last episode and Ayase's character is one of the stupidest I've ever seen in recent memory. Fukushi Sota... bah, never want to see him in another drama. Tamaki Hiroshi remains the best thing about the drama, but he was severely under-utilised - that makes me want to smash some heads and faces
Up to ep 7 of Nobunaga Concerto and finally, a battle! Wasn't much, but I'll live with it. Some very nice relationship beats between Kichou and Saburo.
Also started Suteki na Sen Taxi and Yutaka looked pretty cool and suitably cryptic at times.

She looked very sweet when she smiled, and I agree about the twist, it was nicely done. It was a good episode, and I'll definitely keep on watching as well. _________________

I'm currently enjoying Hanako to Anne, Gomen ne Seishun and N no Tame ni. Masataka Kubota seems to be a very promising actor after what I've seen of him so far, only thing that is lacking is that he

gets a part where he actually has a chance on the girl he likes
Finished episode 4 of Suteki na Sen Taxi. Yutaka is killing it as the cabby, he's awesome. I also loved the scene of the protagonist of episode 4 getting chased by the irate bus people, it was hilarious. Episode 2 also featured Nakamura Toru, it was a real treat seeing him! _________________
