Episode 3 of 'Oyaji no Senaka'. First episode with Tamura and Matsu was very good, second episode with Hikari Mitsushima was just okay, third episode with Toshiyuki Nishida was good. I wish I knew who played the detective in episode 3 he was great. But I can't recall ever seeing him in a drama before.
Second attempt at Love Shuffle, and it's gone much better. I enjoyed episode 1 and laughed lots. Tamaki Hiroshi is a winner in this and I'm liking his rapport with the rest of the cast - the elevator scene was hilarious and I love that swimming pool bit of Kei and Airu. I still don't like Kanjiya Shihori and Tanihara Shosuke, but at this rate I should be able to tolerate them for the rest of the drama. _________________

Aww... I like Tanihara Shosuke... I think he's an underrated actor.

I think he got sort of typecast early on as one of those smarmy stuck up types that nobody likes. But he's really very versatile. The drama that won me over for him was "Mop Girl". junny you might check that one out if you get a chance.
And in this years Taiga "Gunshi Kanbee" for the brief time he was there he was one of the good guys.

Yeah, it's the image, I guess. For example in Love Shuffle, he's got this totally creepy vibe as the therapist. The ojisan hairstyle doesn't help. And in Nodame Cantabile (the movies), he was this snooty conductor taking over RS Orchestra - I wanted Chiaki to drop-kick him to Timbuctoo! I'm sure Tanihara is a good actor but eh, whoever's styling him please give him a better look at least!
Episode 2 of Love Shuffle is hilarious, I'm so glad I'm giving it another shot. Kei's pool scene is awesome possums! I love his confidence when potting the balls, totally shades of Chiaki senpai there! Whether he's being Usa-tan or awesome Kei, Tamaki Hiroshi's expressions are top-class. And I love all the double entendres and wordplay _________________

Tanihara was pretty good in his dark drama Tsugunai. Really loved him in Magerarenai Onna. Kitagawa Keiko is not the best actress, but is really funny in Moppu Garu.
Finished Love Shuffle, fantastic drama! Love the pajama parties and elevator scenes! All the PAN jokes, the wordplay and innuendos... superb! I couldn't stop laughing every time Kei says "Yay Panda!" and the others follow up with some PAN jokes. I really liked the ending for Kei and am glad it was resolved so nicely. I only wish there were more scenes of him with Airu towards the end, they really had some great chemistry there. Tamaki Hiroshi was superb throughout!
Really disliked Mei all the way - horrible character and the actress is no help (third time I've seen Kanjiya Shihori and she's managed to annoy me every single time). Ojiro and Kairi are cute, but the twist regarding them was a bit mean, to be honest. _________________

Just finished episode 1 of The Long Goodbye and quite like it. I'd heard good reviews about it and sort of knew it was based on a Raymond Chandler novel, but haven't read it before and didn't know much of the story, so I went into it blind. I like Asano Tadanobu's Masuzawa, he had that debonair feel about him that somehow made him a perfect fit for that 1950s setting. The cinematography's awesome, I love the subdued palette, framing, etc. I was surprised to find the story veering towards a murder/revenge mystery of sorts, but I'm intrigued so I'll keep on watching. _________________

Up thru episode 6 of "Wakamonotachi 2014". Focusing way too much on everybody's love life and very little on the actual relationship between the siblings. Hikari Mitsushima is the only reason I'm still watching.
The only way anybody would be surprised by the final scene of episode 6 is if it were the first drama they had ever watched.

Episode 5 of "Oyaji no Senaka". Even though it had one of my least favorite actresses (Maki Horikita) it wasn't too bad. Nice seeing Kenichi Endo as something other than his usual hard boiled detective/thug character.
The first episode of this drama was still the best one so far.

Episode 6 of "Oyaji no Senaka". Machiko Ono and Jun Kunimura were the pair this time. Pretty good. Second episode in a row where they've had someone that usually plays a heavy as the father.
Just finished episode 1 of Saikou no Rikon, it's pretty funny. I already like Ono Machiko's character, she's adorable. Eita's Mitsuo started out hilarious too, but he seems a tad too whiny for his own good. And the two cats! They're so kawaii! I hope to see them appear more as the drama progresses. _________________
