and about beautiful life, i didn't remember the aforementioned "disgusted" expression that you mentioned... please just show me one scene so i can rate it as well. The core about beautiful life was not about shuji saw kyoko as in the role of volunteer saw disabled people. He looked kyoko as normal people, normal girl just like everybody else.. at least at the beginning.. The thing is,.. it's a new approach rather than a film with the typical role of a normal - disable person relationship. In fact, that one factor, is one of the thing that made Kyoko interested to Shuji afterall.
and about draggy moments.. I agree there's so many moments of sadness at this dorama, but can't help it. I think it's Kitagawa herself who wanted to show the full depth emotion that kyoko felt during the time she already prepared to gave up her life when shuji suddenly came and pull her hands back again..
and the way kimutaku responded was imo classy.. He didn't fully brought into emotion when kyoko told about her fear towards their future if they kept going steady.. and if EVER get married, in the future. He kept being optimist until the very end, and never wanted to show his sadness in front of kyoko. Notice his way of enduring the sadness, enduring the tears, though the people around him was crying in vain (like the scene when kyoko's brother told him about kyoko's childhood). And he only burst in to tears when he finally didn't need to hold that emotion anymore.. when kyoko finally breath her last breath..
i miss this drama with all of its beautiful dialogue and monologue and silent scenes.. after all i'm not watching it because of its entertainment factor. Not at all.
ps: there's some funny moments at the beginning though, like when shuji told kyoko she's like a ?? forgot the name of the animal... and she was so curious about it that she watched animal programs she didn't usually do, which was her brother's hobby

Since you shared descriptive parts of this movie, spoiler tags should be used as a formality or courtesy to those who have not seen this movie yet. My review was of Tokiwa and Kimutaku, not Shuji and Kyoko. There is a difference.
Yes, I will admit there were some ok parts in the beginning. Kimutaku (not Shuji) appeared to be uninterested in his character's role/relationship with Tokiwa's throughout the whole drama. Read within my previous post in the spoiler tags to see what parts I noticed this the most. There were many other parts but too many to name. Pretty much the whole movie. There are many other reviewers who feel the same way as I do and I didn't even know that I wasn't the only one that noticed, everyone is entitled to their own opinion though. _________________

done.
i forgot there's still chance that there's still people who haven't watch it yet.. hmm..
but a film is always about the relationship of the characters in the film right? it doesn't matter how their relationship in the outside.. that's just exactly why they're being called professionals..
But that's just my view though... In the reality, what you said seems quite make sense too.. Outside cast relationship does have some effect. But to be able to see it in the scenes.. Mybe it's just me who didn't see it like that... Dunno. The thing is, i enjoy it..
or being swept away seems to be the more correct phrase
edit: after i think about this again.. i understand that u probably compared kimutaku - tokiwa takako role with kimutaku's other pair in other doramas..
If those are brought into discussion, then i agree that tokako tokiwa was not really the best pair of kimu taku. Her cast with Toyokawa etsushi might have been a blast to many people *though i havent had chance to watch it* but surely she's not the best pair to have appeared with kimutaku. Either one of takako matsu or takeuchi yuko would be the one.. I always had some laughing and blushing when i watch love generation and pride.
Though BL has definitely a different direction. It showcase art at a different level than the other two.. _________________
