They still talk about when Murakami was about to go in his first game. As he got done warming up in the bullpen a couple of the Giants' pulled him aside and said, "It's major league tradition when you get to the mound and the manager gives you the ball this is what you say." They told him what he was supposed to say, asked him if he understood, Murakami nodded that he did.
Murakami gets to the mound and Giants' manager Herman Franks hands him the ball and Murakami looks him square in the eye and says, "Fuck You!" Franks doesn't know what to think but then he sees catcher Tom Haller biting his lip to keep from laughing, he looks in the Giants' dugout and all the players are just rolling with laughter and he realizes they put him up to it and Murakami doesn't have the slightest idea what he just said.

Kuroda might be running out of gas. Got no decision in the Yankees win last night but over his last four starts he's 0-3 (with the one no decision) and an ERA of 7.43.
