I always thought that Masato Sakai would make a good bad guy. And this is about the third drama I've seen with Ken Watanabe's daughter Anne. Obvioulsy the apple didn't fall very far from the tree, I think she'll do well in her chosen career path.

Yup, I agree it took me awhile to realize there was a passage of time. But what bothered me the most (among other things) about the last episode was:

Kishibe Ittoku's character is completely gone. Wasn't a big part of this drama about him trying to find Kaho?!!? It's like he dropped off the face of the earth.
If you're looking for something light you could try this year's Kimtaku drama "Priceless".
Have you seen either of the "Kodoku no Gurume" dramas? I haven't seen the second one yet. There's no real plot, just Yutaka Matsushige going to various restaurants and checking them out. Should really help with your New Year's resolution!

Been kind of rewatching the Trick series. Hoping to watch other jdramas too.
Must be January, cori is posting.
If you don't get your fill of Abe watching "Trick", I re-watched "At Home Dad" recently while waiting on subs for some of the new stuff. I had forgotten how good that drama was!!

Good point regarding Hitori! I guess 1 or 2 more episodes would have been better but then WOWOW always sticks to their 6 episodes I guess.
Koduku sounds interesting but let me first get rid of the Christmas belly
In the meantime - since it's Sunday and I am still a little jet-lagged - I started to re-watch Gonzo. I have watched it only once and yes it's as great as I remember it. Light it ain't though

Hi Cori-Chan!!
Watching the end of Hana Yori Dango.
Not positive why. Jun and Domiyoji is a bit silly.
Hey Evie!
Are you watching the 2nd season of HYD too?
Watched part of the first ep of Kuitan today. I forgot how funny this drama was. _________________

Was at home tonight and instead of studying I watched TV
First episode of the newest season (11 or 12) of Investigator Mariko (Kasouken no Onna) - I only ever saw see seasons 1 and 2, well it's a one case per episode show so no biggie. But technology has evolved since season 1 and the first episode was interesting but I won't follow this regularly.
Then I had to check out Saikou no Rikon by the scriptwriter who brought us Mother and Soredemo (and many others). Eita from Soredemo and the evil Mother alumni Ono Machiko and Ayano Go star, plus Maki Yoko
This show is on the lighter side, it might even be a bit daring and sexy given the closing credits. I truly hope so.

Episode 7 of "Osozaki no Himawari". Looks like somebody's picked up the subs.
It's okay, nothing particulary great or special, but if you've got Yoko Maki and a halfway decent plot you'd think it would have gotten better ratings than it did.
I thought Sakai would just be a lone wolf rogue cop but looks like he's getting some help and dunno if it's the cold weather or not, but 傤 looks hotter than ever!

Finally finished it. The writer definitely didn't take any chances with the ending. In the real world:

Maki would have stayed in Shimanto and Kuninaka would have tossed her husband out of the house back at around episode 6.

^ I completely agree with your point, as if they tried to give a a happy ending at all costs but how would
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
Joutarou and Kahori start and maintain a relationship if she wants to research at all costs, even thinking of going to the US, how would Kuninaka's husband change after one small conversation, how would Koutarou and his friends survive 3-5 years without income before the rice fields bear again ...
Still one of the better one's of the fall season.
Regarding the new season, I watched episode 2 of Saikou no Rikon, it's also quite realistic and slow but I started to think that if the most exciting thing is the ending credit (superb) there is maybe something wrong ...
Speaking of Eita and great credits, he is in another drama with a superb credit sequence: Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi. Follow-up to the movie of the same name, it's a great niche show, not to everybody's taste but I liked it.
I watched also Share House no Koibito, and it was a million time better than I imagined. I had such low expectations for this, but the first episode was much sadder and touching than I thought.
I love suspense and mystery but the first episode of Otome-san left me on the fence, none of the characters were likable. I'll watch another episode and then make my decision.

3 dramas make a big impression on me as far as the first episode goes. Maybe you guys want to try them too; Yakou Kanransha (excellent!), Tonbi (unexpectedly lovely), and Shotenin Michiru no Mi no Uebanashi (simply unexpected).
And I like Sharehouse no Koibito as well.
I saw the CM for WOWOW's new drama, Onna to Otoko no Nettai the other day. Looking good! _________________

^ great advise, I checked out Yakou Kanransha in the meantime. It has a very similar theme to Otome-san, namely housewife mystery in suburbia where nothing is as it actually seems. I found this much more interesting than Otome-san and in one episode it has cured me forever from wanting to live in housewife dream (=hell) suburbia Japan.
