*edit* i find we learn more from our defeats rather than our victories
It was a close match between me and this A-Kim/Kyo/Hibiki. His Kim tore my whole team up until my P-Cammy even up the score. I got TONS of "Oh's and Ah's" from my parry supers with Cammy. That scared him shitless, I think. I lost though in the end because I overestimated his Hibiki. I thought he was gonna go for resets, but then it turns out he didn't know any so I lost. We had almost no life at the end. Oh well, it was a good tourney experience and I met a new friend over there.
I also discovered that my JD skills are way above average when I was testing out my K-Kyo/Cammy/Hibiki "sandbagging" team for warmup before the actual tourney. I actually beat one of the Bay Area's top-players this weekend in a casual match.
And hot damn, I got another tourney this weekend at SVGL.

How much money is the top prize for winning the tournament?
The standard format is usually 65% for 1st, 25% for 2nd, and 10% for 3rd place gets that much of the pot. So if the tourney costs $5 to enter and there were 13 participants, you'll basically get peanuts if you win. Tournies year round are mostly practice for Evo or for fun.
However, for larger tournies like Evolution, it's the same format, but the entry fees are around $20-30 and the competition is on a much larger scale with hundreds of participants.
I hate to say it, but looks like the Japanese are going to take our money again this year. I vote Densetsu no Otaku for CvS2, Daigo for 3s, and probably Daigo, kaqn, or some other Japanese top-player for GGXX. People are always arguing whether the US can actually BEAT Japan at any game other than MvC2 and Tekken (if the Koreans don't enter ). But it's pretty much the Japanese taking the top rankings in almost all the games.

i think it's dust2....
Yup, it's Dust2. He's at the double-doors that's right next to CT spawn that leads to catwalk/T spawn. I'm suprised he didn't get awped when he went through.

dang... you guys still play cs...?? LOL that game is sooo old....
Nope, not anymore. I quit like 1 1/2 years ago. Now it's competitive fighting games for me.
I have a bunch of friends that play in the CAL league though. All they do is complain about the 3 second delay when you scope with the AWP. Damn and to think I used to get knife kills on them so easily back then.
